Hey folks,
My first post here.

I was wondering if you guys knew that there is a new "Band of Brothers" Series coming to TV? This time, it will be in the Pacific, not Europe and will have nothing to do with the original "Band of Brothers" except that it will be written by SOME of the same writers.

They start filming this summer, but check out some of the campaigns that they will be featuring in the series:
Pearl Habor, Midway, Guadalcanal, Hiroshima, Iwo Jima, Okinawa, etc.

Also, the series will follow a USO troupe who travel the Pacific trying to keep Allied soldiers entertained and morally up beat about the war. By doing this, the writers will be able to interwine through various soldiers and civilians who are caught in the conflict. We'll see the stories of cooks, nurses, pilots, infantry, and many others. Their are rumors that the characters will be much more diverse than before, and therefore we'll probably see main characters that are Hispanic, Irish, British, African American, etc.

There is a website already here: http://www.upcomingepics.com/pacific_war/

Anyone looking forward to it? Because of UBI's Pacific Fighters game, I am definitely interested in seeing this campaign!

really cool to see oliver stone involved. Im hoping hanks and spielburg decide to make a band of brothers type of series about aviation squadrons from all different sides german japanese russian british american etc in thier native langauges with subtitles.

PS learn to put white subtitles on the bottom black line of widescreen already! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I also hope they decide to make half the episode on the japaneses lifes and vets.

I enjoyed band of brothers and think it was the best series on wwii evermade. However I think they could have made 10 more episodes in the series showing the germans vets and defenses and what they went thru as well losses and victories.

What are your sources for your info??
I read something a while back on this and they never mentioned anything about following the USO just swithcing from one character to the next to see how there stories overlapped with each other.

I have read several of these threads in the last few months and I have to reply to this... first off, filming will not begin this summer. The scripts will be finished by either late summer or end of summer, but filming probably won't start till later in 2005. Secondly, the USO thing is incorrect so stop speculating about it. Third, I have heard nothing about Oliver Stone being involved, and finally, rest assured that Tom Hanks and Steven Spielburg are very much involved.

Unless you have other inside info that I don't know, I am reporting on that site what I am getting from the writers of the series.
