Hello, welcome to the community.

Most servers are now at 4.08 - and you need to have your version updated to 4.08 in order to be able to join servers using that version.

The new version '1946' was recently released - this takes you to 4.07. ITtcan be bought in the shops, depending on where you are or can be downloaded form the link in the first post in this thread. (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/23110283/m/1711047325). Probably best if you read the whole of that thread before making a desicion about which way to go.

After that, you need to d/l and install the 4.08 patch which can be got here. (http://www.pacific-fighters.com/en/home.php?skin=S2)

Good luck. And enjoy it!

After you are patched up and ready to go, download and install the Hyperlobby client from this location: Click Me! (http://hyperfighter.sk/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=2&orderby=dateA)

That client is where most servers can be found... they are all listed in the "Forgotten Battles" room once you are connected.

Good luck.

Thx for a fast answer. I am thinking to buy the entire IL21946 and after I do that I can update it to 408m? And I want to play like you guys do with sqadrons and all, how can I do that?

All you have to do is buy 1946, install the latest free patch (408m) and you'll have the up to date version which most people use online.

Most of us use Hperlobby (http://hyperfighter.sk/) to play online.

To fly with a squad have a look on the Squadrons forum and see who is recruiting. Fly with a few online and see who you get on with.

The attitude of Squadrons varies a lot. Some are quite formal with ranks, training etc, some (Like the Fighting Irish which I belong to) are less formal. Depends what you are looking for.

In either case I would make sure you achieve a certain level of competency before applying to join a squad. Make sure you can take off, land, navigate etc.

Good luck.

There are, but they are irrelevant http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
You can play using the UBI client, but compared to Hyperlobby, no one flies there

I just gunned down my first 2 enemy planes down http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif and by mistake a frienldy one http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/disagree.gif(I was playing realistic style) and I want to ask you how can I track planes better? using the numpad from keyboard or with mouse? (and ofcourse with zoom). About reconnaise an frienldy plane I know I should open my eyes but how can I see what plane it is from a long distance? If I am at 6k alt and I see a plane at 2k alt I got to get down to it, loosing alt and there can be an friendly plane and I lost alt for nothing. How can I make that more easly? Oh and I'm thinking to buy an trackIR4 what do you think about that things? they are worthing?
Thx for all the support and fly safe (not with me around foe... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif)

Yes, TrackIR is definately worth it, if you have the funds. Indeed, some would say essential.

About recognising plane types at distance, there's not much you can do other than gain experience. Look at which way he's going, what tracer is being shot at him form ground or air, what the tactical situation is etc. It really is a question of experience and time behind the stick.

Of course it helps if you can get hold of hte biggest screen and best video card you can, but really you have to work out the cost/benefit of that. There are no magic fixes for IDing at distance, we all struggle with it to a greater or lesser degree.

I'd go with getting some hours under the belt first.

If you are prepared (or want) to spend $$$ then TrackIR is the way to go. If not then learn to use mouse left handed. Took me couple of days and I'm still using this method. Bind a button on your stick to 'Toggle FOV' to get a quick closer look. Yes it's difficult to identify aircraft at a distance but these thigs happen in war. One final tip : control surface trim is very important in this game.

Pff guys I get this message when trying to login to HL "Please wait, connecting HyperLobby server" and after a second "Connection to HyperLobby server was closed". Why is that? I read the forums of HL and I think I might be banned but I didn't do or say nothing that could lead to a ban(I shot down a friendly, but I don't think I can be banned for that). What other problem could be?

P.S: Control surface trim? pls explain more about that

Control surface trim is available on almost all aircraft. I16 is an exception and does not. It's there to keep your aircraft flying nice and straight and aerodynamically efficient. Nearly all have elevator trim, most have rudder trim and a few have aileron trim. You probably noticed that the aircraft tend to 'nose up' as speed increases so add a little negative elevator trim to straighten things out. Next have a look at the slipball or turn and slip indicator and it's not centred. This will cost you speed and throw off your aim. Fix it with rudder trim. The aircraft will still want to roll with engine torque so add aileron trim. The amount of trim required changes with airspeed, fuel load, throttle setting and lots of other things. A well trimmed aircraft is faster and easier to fly and shoot.

Ohh yes I know about all that and I will start using it but first I got to make HL to work again. I still get "Connection to HyperLobby server was closed" after a second after connecting. It is good that I still can play on a server, I founded the web of the server I was playing and I use ingame connecting (that is Wings Over Europe srv)
