Hey hey all, i'm quite new here (certainly haven't posted much) and i've been playing Pacific Fighters for a long while. Being a cocky Brit, i keenly await the BoB series (C'or Blimey guv) but can't help but wonder if there is anything planned beyond that? I've always wanted a decent Vietnam simulator. I've played a few Nam flying games (like Med+Evac and WoV) but they're pretty cack really with nowhere near enough variation and sponteneity. Any plans to get helicopters involved in a later campaign? I'm a rotary pilot first and foremost (in my head, of course).

And while i'm tapping out my opinion, i'd love, LOVE i tell you, to see more happen to a bailed pilot. Why can't the game go into a sort of map-only mode and allow you to try and make it to friendly forces, avoiding enemy units and minefields and stuff? Ever play a game for the amiga YEARS ago called Lost Patrol? Thats what i'm thinking of for pilot escape and evasion. It'd be cool to get back to your unit after meeting some friendly grunts. Promotionworthy stuff.. etc OR if you bail over sea, can't a PBY come pick you up? Or an Air-Sea Rescue launch?

Anyone? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Er.....Mint?

BoB isn't the end of the simulation.

Storm of War:Battle of Britain is the first installment. the word is that the Med will be next, but it will be part of Storm of War

As for what's after Storm of War, how should we know? SoW isn't even out yet

I realise that BoB is an instalment thing. I guess i just don't have any faith in anyone to do a decent flight sim other than Oleg's lot. After all, CFS was ok but wasn't really groundbreaking and everything else pails in comparison.

Gimme some NAM!! Formation troop drops in hot LZ's . Fly a dust-off. Be an FAC, call in some slufs to bomb the living whoopsie out of a bit of Jungle. Personally, i'd love to see more ground troops doing... ground troopy things. Random firefights requiring re-supplying and med-evac. etc... Autorotate. Run through the jungle.. a decent soundtrack http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Would anyone else buy that or am i just away on a wild one?

After Battle of Britain Oleg said that the Storm of War series was due to head to the Medditeranian which is not surprising seeing as BoB will already include 3 important Italian aircraft used during the Battle of Britain.

So we'll be getting reaquitaned with RAF Tomahawks, Spitfire Vb and Vc with desert air filter, Hurricane IIb, c, and hopefully d, the MC.202, Bf109F tropical, and so forth. I'm looking forward to Malta and North African campaigns. Goodie! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Having flown alot of Hurricane ground attack missions online recently...its going to be a boatload of fun with the Hurricane IId with its 40mm Vickers cannons for AT work. Hurricane is just such a stable and nice plane to fly for ground attack.

I hope that, before Medditeranian they expand BoB in to some early channel action, you know early Fockes, MkV Spits, Typhoon http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif, etc.

That looks like immense fun!!! (Thanks for the link). I'm going to shut my pie hole now and await the release of not one but TWO fantasmic looking games.

Can't wait to crank 'em up http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

You seem to have anticipated my next question, mein fleigerchum http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

WW1 would be a good era to fly too (virtually, of course).

Mine's an SE.5a please http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/partyhat.gif
