I was developping the 23rd mission of "Sky Fighter", begun in 4.04. As 4.05 was available, I downloaded it and updated my soft wout apparent problem.

After the update, "the show must go on!"...

But....
I load the mision in the editor, without proble and I make a test to check the way point arrangement. I click on "play", the mission loads, The cockpit appears, the screen freezez and IL2-PE2 aborts back to windows XP. Several tests give the same result.

I load the previous mission, that is finished and that was working properly in 4.04m. Same result.

I load again mission 23 and I start to delete components, thinking (less and less) to a mistake I could have made. The mission works if I delete all vehicles, tanks, and other moving ground units (in the file *.mis, all "chiefs")....

A bit desparate, I resign the development and load a campaign developped by someone else (Spanish War Kondor Luftwaffe Pilot - LWPKondorLegion). No problem during the first three first missions but at the fourth one, I got the following message:

Translation:
"The instruction at "0x5f07530e" is using the memory "0x0000051c". The memory cannot be "read".
Select OK to abort the program"

I do not understand more, because this mission does not include any "chief".

I tried, according to advices given on the forums, to replace Il2.exe and Il2-fb.exe by the original CD one, I rem—oved Boonty of the list of programs started by XP. No way, sometimes, missions are working, sometimes not, without any reason I understand.

Will we have to re-develop all the campaigns to be allowed to use 4.05?

take the time to browse the forum mate before you write a long threadhttp://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif The answer seems to be in every thread....

Keep the old exe files from 4.04 and if you don't have them anymore, you find them here;

http://www.alliedwingedlegion.com/members/spinner/404mexes.zip

Be sure to make a backup of your present exe files just to be sure.

Read what I wrote, Sir. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
I replaced Il2.exe and Il2-fb.exe by the original FB CD one and the problem remains.

Well, these files seem to work better than my original one. So the only word is thanks! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Nope. Not memory. This is a common problem with many that had downloaded the PE-2 add-on. There were new IL2.exe and a new IL2FB.exe in the download that was causing these problems.

Don't want to rain on you parade But:

I'm running a clean install of 405m, no Boonty Box, no other spyware, 404m exe's etc

AND

Compared to 404m, 405m has problems stutters, momentary lockups and the like, online seems to present more of a problem, out of interest I compared 404m and 405m servers with similar ping and frame rates, 404m's were smoother, no stutter what so ever.

Also I have been using Full Mission Builder over the past week and guess what, 405m keeps giving me memory errors, while 404m runs OK.

My machine has not changed, my config and setup are still the same, the only thing thats different is 405m vs 404m, and 404m win's hand's down.

ANY ANSWERS?

Bowman

"These are the buggers that are causing the memory error. Replace the IL2/IL2FB.exe with the old 4.04m version and see what happens, no more errors."

Also

"Lutheri1:

"Replace your il2.exe and il2fb.exe with the ones from the Data1.cab file on the original FB CD #1. You can open the cab file with winzip, and then extract the two files (and ONLY those two files) to your il-2 folder.""

Did that, after a manual install (no BoontyBox involved), and now have started getting these memory errors that I never had before purchasing the Pe-2 addon, and it happensevery couple of missions, not all, maybe 1 in 4 or 5. Last night it happened in almost every mission, replayed until eventually getting through, this in the navy campaign (Just started to test this problem) and the army one (near berlin now in that one)
I have 2Gb of good OCZ memory, so does anyone else have the same problem, or know the fix, or if there'll be a patch?

Memory Referenced in latest crash, after starting this note, was 0x0f171d8a and 0x0f313e58 if that means anything to someone.

EDIT:SHELL_DEFAULT_HTML is this directory needed, it came from Pe-2 addon, manual install, just realised it wasn't there before that.

Also noticed a file, "SpMU.exe" in the root directory, that was added. In it's properties it says "....il2fb.exe" -manual_transaction" Anyone know if it's required for anything other than something to do with BOONTY BOX?
