As a community I think we have been lavished with videos, screenshots and even a community day down at Ubisoft UK.

This is most appreciated. Yeah, were chucking them some cash for a product at the end of the day but at least they are making it worth our while and show they want our custom.

If you count the Developers and there feedback over the many months and the forum and the fact I just love Athlonics silent hunter has gone gold and shipping, (what did he have before this) its all rolled up to a great experience.

It€s been fun coming in every day for a good read and find out new stuff.

I€d give it 9 out of 10 but i'll round up! and that€s only because I really wanted to have a higher resolution for that TFT I€m buying, nothing was really said about it till it was too late.

I'll vote ONLY after it has been confirmed/denied that the Carriers (Escort and Fleet) have air cover. I've asked and asked this CRUCIAL question, but still no answer! If you didn't know, the A/C from these were THE main reason of u-boat sinkings.

If A/C are used by the Carriers, I'll give 10.
If A/C are NOT in use by the Carriers, I'll give it 1.

They had them in SH2, and that blew chunks. No reason to think they won't in SH3.

I NEVER, EVER saw any A/C anywhere near any Carriers in SH2. The only time were random patrols. I'm not saying they weren't there. I just NEVER saw them or was seen by them. They don't need to be seen taking off or landing, but they DEFINITELY need to be seen patrolling the area of the Carrier and the convoy they are supposed to be protecting!

Translated review:

8/10

Underwater simulation always had a special place in my heart of player. It makes it possible to feel also strong feelings when one is hunter that when one is driven out! Does one manufacture more adrenalin when one threads through the protective shield of the destroyers and that one sees the aircraft carrier approaching or when one flees after him to have sent his torpedes, pursued by the escort which only dreams to make pay the full price with the intruder for his audacity? Fortunately, between the two, the long hours ago of virtual navigation which make it possible to admire the oceans and to recover a little. Let to me ressouvenir itself with emotion of the parts of Silent Service on C64 during which Stéphane Kauffmann (today big shot of Tom' S) had become expert to determine the distance from a building to run by measuring two points on my tele screen. We were young people and impetuous... Silent Hunter III does not have large-thing to see with its homonyms. The first shutter made it possible to the player to control American submarines and it presented some original missions, as that which consisted in going to fish out the American pilots killed in the Pacific. Silent Hunter II was already dedicated to the "gray Wolves", the German submariners whose Churchill said that they had been his only real fear during the war, but the similarity with this new version stops there. Silent hunter III is the fruit of the work of studios UBI of Romania and it is an entirely new play.
Side submarines, our Rumanian friends gave in the pure history. No the prototype with "balls two" to make kind (that it is so that my small nephew does not smell himself completely not excluded from this article...). The submarines present in the play are the various versions of types II, VII, IX and XXI. In short, Type VII was the submarine more built war, type IX has a better autonomy and type XXI makes it possible to remain longer in-depth and to reload more quickly. The German being logical, one begins his career in 1939 on a type II, small but handy, although it is possible to start later and with another model if it is wished. Since 1940, thanks to the genius of our military heads who thought of remaking the war of 14-18, the Germans have the bases of Brest (7 meters of concrete!), Lorient, Bordeaux and St-Nazaire where a sympathetic nerve presses sailors and nurses accompany the departure by the submarines at the rate/rhythm of the German military music. One can see them to be agitated thanks to the binocular of edge and animation is very well carried out... At that time, it is not too difficult to run commercial boats without escorts, and even some destroyers, then to return to recover its iron cross before setting out again for another mission. If you received sufficient points of prestige, you will be able to profit from a new armament and decorations to be allotted to the crew which aguerrit with the wire of cruisings. Benefit from these first missions bus then, that spoils itself! Nevertheless, one survives longer here than in Silent Hunter II or even in Aces of the Deep which our Patrick of the drafting would have agreed to know. But it had just been born...

Good, the decoration is planted, speak a little shop. First obvious observation, Silent Hunter third of the name is the most beautiful set of submarines left to date (at the same time, it is the last...). Returned sea is to be vomitted and the all objects are remarkably detailed. For the first time, one can play in realistic mode 100% and recognize without too much effort the boats in the glasses of the periscope. Second observation, this vice of textures hiding place a play which is likely to disappoint those which are not bitten by the submarines or the plays warlike in general, because it is necessary to spend not badly time to manage any sound small world and the excitation is present only with one high realism. On the surface as in diving, it is constantly necessary to assign sailors with the diesel engines or electric, to reload the torpedes or to reabsorb the damages. To arrive for the enemy fleet with a tired crew is not a guarantee of success... On the other hand, in form, it will help you to calculate the trajectory of your torpedes, will give you the depth under the skittle, will indicate to you the CO2 level in the cockpit and even the naval or air threats. One can then choose to draw manually on the targets. For you défouler the gun of 88 or the anti-aircraft one, it does not have there better but it is not a play of arcade all the same... More half of U-boote were run by planes, and it is well represented in the play with frequent alarms.

Salute!

I refuse to use BabelFish for translating unless I want a laugh. Thanks for the laugh. And curse you for the headache I now have trying to understand a single thing that said!

Actually it was a Google translation. I can make sense out of it pretty well though. Big change from early bablefish.
