Anybody have this? I made what I consider a nice profile of the two together. Works like a dream for me. Uses Saitek drivers though. You can download it at our site in the downloads page. Let me know what you think of it if you decide to use it. I intentionally left the pinkie switch un assigned in case I wanted to use the other 3 modes...like say in a multi engined plane if I decided to get into it without having to load a new profile. As it is now I only use modes on 2 buttons...the D button is radiator, map & quick record, and the little black button next to the orange button which is CTRL, CTRL or SHIFT.

Dunno what the MSFFB2 is, i'm thinking Force feedback (b=?)

Anyway i used the X45 and hte MS precision 2 sidewinder pro 2 (or whatever the heck it is) I only used the X45 throttle though, the joystick was waaay to stiff and clunky for me, pluse no rudder turning on main stick=lose.

Yes it is force feedback. But you should still be able to use the buttons on the X45 stick. The stiffness of the stick works very well at keeping it from flopping all over when you press the buttons. That's what I meant when I said I don't use the X & Y axii of the X45. I only use it's buttons. IN FB you shopud be able to use both sticks. Keeping the rudder where it is on the X45 rocker but taking that X45 stick from under your desk and USING IT!!! Use those buttons!!!! Try to get off the keyboard and stick to the stick!!! Check it out..You probably wont be able touse my profile but maybe you could use it and just set up the rocker for the throttle and leave the MS part out al together....program that yourself however you want it. You paid your hard earned $$ for that X45 and it will work in FB as a button bay so enjoy it!! You can make your hats on the X45 4 way switches with four seperate funtions...stuff that you may not even bother with now or you may have on the keyboard.......isnt it all about the simmin? Put thoise things on that stick!!! I have lights and tip smoke on one hat, all my gear manual & auto & tailwheel on the other. You ever have your hydraulics shot up and have to manually lower your gear? You like the Ratta? Manual gear baby!!!! If it is on a button onstead of a keystroke it will be easier to find. Dont waste that stick behind your desk. Dont let it become just a paperwieght. Make it an integral part of your flight sim experience and take it on up!!!

Interesting idea... I often wondered when I read of this combo, what do you do with the stick? At least its not just under the desk this way.

Using hazardscripting I've mapped almost every FB command other than the comms on the X45 stick and throttle, and the mouse is on the lower stick hat. The only reason I touch my keyboard is to chat during flight online.

Is the MSFFB2 stick more likeable in someway to replace the X45 stick? Or is the FFB that this combo is designed around? The only time I ever touched a MSFFB2 was on a display at Fry's, and it had no power so the stick was just loose in the socket. Not much of a demo, lol.

The FFB is my main flight stick. Thats where the controls are....the X45 is strictly a button bay. The throttle is just that with some other commands on there. I have my rw press to talk as my ctrl key..thats why it is on the handle so I can talk without having to take my hands off the throttle. My bailout button is the red lighted one on the Saitek..I keep the fliptop down too unless I am going to bail. It is a real sweet setup. If you see a MSFFB on sale pick one up. I have the gun kicks turned real low. I like it more for the flight controls...stalls...you can "feel" the damage when you have a shot up wing or elevator. etc.

Ah. I've read of the 'feeling' damage and stalls. Tough to imagine such a thing, I'll have to see if I can try it someday since it could be useful.

Thanks for the info!

I would love to use the X45 stick as a button bay, but i just dont have enough room /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif i have to put the MS stick on my lap as it is now, and hte X45 throttle ontop of my computer /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif . I dont know maybe i'll stick in a desk drawr or soemthing /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif .

BTW: this is the other MS joystick i have, that i was reffering to: http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/sidewinder/Prec2.asp
