To anyone who wants some ideas for homemade rudderpedals and a good pit setup, this is what I came up with a couple of years back.
I've already posted some of these under a different name about a year ago but heck.

I like the use of the bicycle chain - excellent idea!

I still mean (hampered by giving my spare stick away to a desperate flight simmer) to try a long throw stick by using a long handle. I guess I could just strap my current stick to a board to stabilise it and gaffa tape on a broom handle as a trial!

You ripped those parts off a Bleriot ?? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Nice idea, you should add in some 'toe brakes' http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
I don't think that I could get used of 'stamping on the rudder', instead of the usual pushing the rudder pedal.

I wonder if SOW will allow hotas axes assigned to toe brakes?

progesive differential braking ?

I just hope SOW will have multiple axis for multi-engines

You could macro a hat's positions to select and modify engines. If left hat would lower the
left engine 5% while raising the right engine 5% (for left turn)... each one needs to select
all engines at the end. If you move the throttle itself then all engines will synch to that,
handy way to reset the virtual throttles?

word is the P-38 will still not turn as it should due to limits of the IL2/FB models.
Well, it still makes some difference.

Is it sitting backwards?

Nice work however.

It works fine, you'll have to get used to the 'stamping' procedure, however, you need only minor movement to get a fair amount of rudder.
I'm currently working on a different setup with this device for a more natural approach... just a little revamp.
I highly recommend building your own pedals as it's fun in the first place.
Toebrakes would be nice but I've put off the idea.

I'll have to get Red Green to make me a set of those http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif

Hey McHilt, what was that little red and white plane that was in your sig before?

Whilst definitely more convenient for those of us used to the modern setup it would not be historically accurate for most of the planes in this sim or SOW.

That said, I never understood why we couldn't just have a HOTAS toe brake assignment that only worked for those few planes that actually had differential toe brakes.

Back on topic ...

That setup definitely has the whole WWI feel down pat.

That's a Extra 300s stuntplane with a custom repaint by me:

At the moment I prefer the T6/A Texan II as seen below
