I am a total newb to this, I want to get my son the Assassin's Creed Guide for the new game I bought him for X-mas and I'm unsure which one would be better...Any ideas?! Does the collector's guide have more then the regular paper back?! Any info will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I bought the regular paperback guide and it was very useful in collectibles, a couple of tough parts of Desmond Sequences, and getting 100% synch on missions. It also gives strategies for den defense and multiplayer which helpful, and the story summary and mini-encyclopedia at the back was cool http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Personally I'd go for the cheaper one, as the hardback is likely to be almost the same with a few bonus/novelty features.

However to make sure he makes the most out of the game, DON'T LET HIM READ AHEAD - the guide is great at not spoiling things unless you read ahead of the mission you are playing.

I can personally vouch that the Collector's Guide is definitely worth the extra money if you're willing to spend it; tons of art, character + story info (infact there's more on some topics that the Encyclopedia) and the Revelations guide has a beautiful series of hand-drawn images of Altair's story which are a wonder to look at and read.

So I suppose it really depends on how much your son would enjoy the extra things, but there definitely is a nice difference between the two.
