So, WWII pilots didn't just hit the "I" key to start their engines? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

Sure. Everybody knows video game training is as good as the real thing.

Really interesting video. I spend a lot of time floundering around in the Corsair. I picked up on the take-off instructions...some can't be done in IL-2, but some can. While I have no problem taking off in the Corsair, it's a constant fight with the rudder to keep a straight line.

BUT...after applying:

Rudder trim 6 degrees right
Aileron 6 degrees RT wing down
Elevator 1 degrees nose up
Cowl flaps 2/3's

Makes a huge difference. Almost takes off like a P-38. Is this something I was supposed to know all along, or was I just enlightened?? Does anybody use these settings (or other for the Corsair?)

After that great video, I wish I could fly with Pappy and 214.

It would take way more than a video for me to want that.
