Unplug and replug the USB cable.

Like me, you bummed out and got one of the 'first series' of X52 with faulty hard-wired firmware. These particular sticks had all sorts of problems - sometimes the virtual mouse drifts, the throttle loses some of its range of movement (2% min, 108% max for example), and the slider loses some range of movement too.

I emailed Saitek tech support about the problem and they said they were aware of it, but that it was basically my problem, nyah nyah (typical).

Other people got in contact with the UK tech support - who recommended they should return it to their supplier for a stick with the later firmware (the key is in the serial numbers - search the Saitek forums - or Ubi Forums - for a thread that tells you which serial number not to go below for a saitek stick).

Good luck with returning it to your shop - if you bought it at a store, you might be able to get a replacement. I bought it from an online supplier who repeatedly refused to respond to my RA requests http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif **** you techbuy.com.au!

Until you get a replacement (or if, I guess), unplugging and replugging your USB cable temporarily fixes the problem. Out of habit, I tend to unplug/replug every time I'm about to start IL2, just to be safe.

yes i bought it on first day on release .. the malfuntioned hardware setting is getting a bit annoying and sometimes it just turns itself off in mid flight so i have no stick ..happend a few times in online campaigns and ive had to bail and quit... ive set a deadband on the throttle atm witch has done the trick for now ..but its geting worse .. last night it would only go to 3% minimun o_O

my saitek is magic ...it seems to have fixed itself and now goes to 0% with ease without using the deadzone o_O very strange but cool *kisses saitek* i love you my favourite little throttle ..but if you ever go nuts on me again im off to have an affair with a ch throttle or couger throttle ..
