View Full Version : Easiest Templar kills?

I'm not sure if this has been done already, did a search, got nothing, so here goes.

What were your easiest top three (or top five if you can remember) Templar kills in AC1?

Off hand, from what I can remember, mine are:

1: I was fighting a Templar on a high roof in Acre (I think it was acre), and he knocked me off, i fell to the ground and laned on my back, and just as I'm getting to my feet, said Templar drops to the floor behind me, but unlike me, didn't get up again.

2: Fighting a Templar on horseback, I was circleing him, with target lock, swinging my sword. I'm not quite sure how i did it, I either got him in the neck, or my horse trampled him. Either way: one ex-Templar.

3: I can't remember where i was fighting this one, but I grabbed him and threw him down some stairs and into a wall (I think), either I threw him against the wall with enough force to kill him, or he fell in his own blade while rolling on the ground.

So, what were your easiest Templar kills?

Acre* Acer is a computer manufacturer http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
And for me, Maybe not the easiest but certainly my best, was on top of a tallish building, with about 6 guards around me, including the templar. I killed 2, simple.
Then with the 3rd, I wanted to have fun. so I weakened him, then grabbed him. I positioned it so the Temlar was on the edge of the roof, then just pushed the guard into the Templar, and both off the roof http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Rodrigo Borgia. I shot that dude from like, really far away. Easiest kill ever. But then you actually had to fight him. So Francesco de Pazzi. I went straight up to the tower he was, pulled one guard off the edge, and then got Francesco and another guard in a double assassination. Made me feel like such a boss

Why is it so hard to counter a dude with a spear/hammer?

Anyway, I still think Rodrigo was the easiest. I mean, you just shoot him and that's it. The fist fight after that is just like fighting a brute.

i was really tight to ol Roddy at the end http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Interesting replies, though in my initial post, i was refering to the Templar knights in AC1, but i suppose the Templars in AC2 count too http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif As for francesco, I had to get him in the back with throwing knives, because i could never get close enough to nail him with the wrist blades. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif Though i do have to admit, Rodrigo was really easy once you got to him. NOTHING like Robert De Sable, now he was a tough kill, probably becaue he had about half a dozen Templar Knights helping him.

if we're going for ALL Templars, I'm gunna have to say that shipping merchant, in one of the DLC sequences ( I think its bonfire of vanities)

That B****** took me ages to kill. Not because I couldnt do it right, because I kept popping up at the wrong moment and getting noticed.

I think another easy kill was when you flew into the basilica using the flying machine. I jumped straight down onto the stairs, cutscene, i shot that guy as he was running. lucky for me, he was running in a straight line http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif

It is! I was surprised how challenging the fight was. Before you fight Robert, you fight other Templars. These are no regular Templars since they were the high ranking and skilled ones (they also had the bucket helmet =P). Looking back to AC1, AC1 had way more challenging fights. You actually had to time your counter kills since if you press it too soon or late, you will get hurt. The combat system in AC2 is too forgiving unlike AC1.

If you have a lot of patience then buy it lol. It's a repetitive game, but I think it's okay. The combat system and enemy AI is better than AC2's in my eyes. And it's cool to play as Altair, even though he's a jerk.

i didn't like that mission, i thought it was a bit stupid, whats the point in bieng all 'stealthy' and sneaking in to the villa, if he comes out and fights anyway.

i'd say the easiest AC2 assassination for me would be that bishop, archbishop whatever he is, the one in the abbey. all you need to do is hide in some hay assassinate him from there, use a smoke bomb and run off.

Yea i agree i diddnt see the point of sneaking to start with and then the bone head mercineries would just run up to the gurads i was goiung for and attack them pointless. Also why would the archbishop just run out of his villa in PJ's with a huge axe? He would clearley delegate from his villa windows well protected.

I also agree with what you say about stefano da Bagnanoe (spelling) that is particually easy too. I think they may have rushed this part as the other two (bernardo Baroncelli and Antonino Maffaei) are not exactally hard are they. Its a shame as all of those cospiritors are interesting characters especially Archbishop Salviati, the Salviati family have a long and illustirous history and it would have been noce to have seen more of them really.

But we cant have everything http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Do you know how hard/expensive it would have been for ubisoft to do all of the dialog for the game in arabic/hebrew/whatever language they spoke during the cruesades? And then to write all the subtitles in english.

It was alot easier for them to use english. Unrealistic workaround? maybe, but there is such a thing called artistic liscense.

Maybe so but its not the language im having ago at i think you have missed my point. I understand that because of business and making money they have to have all the Arabs and that speaking English so we can all understand whats going on, as more people will get it if its all in English so its not the language im having a go at.

Its the fact that Altair had an american accent when all of the other characters had eastern accents but the main character spoke america?? Ridiculous yes it is.
You guys can try justifying it too me any which way you like, it is just a massive flaw in AC1 IMHO

I was free-running across rooftops and noticed I was being chased but didn't know it was a Templar. The dude missed his jump and fell to his death below. The notification showing I killed a Templar came up. Never even lifted a blade against him.

A few others I managed to creep up to them silently from behind and use the hidden blade on them.

I'm currently playing thru AC1 for the 1st time so I've got about 20 Templars left.

Don't forget those with a peculiar affinity for water--i.e. drowning themselves--esp. in AC2.

Speaking of which, I hope (though you might wonder why at this piont) that Ezio is not the only one who can swim in Brotherhood.

I could understand the guards not bieng able to swim in AC2 because of their armor, but I at least expected Thieves to swim, or Gondoliers at the very least. they're the only civies you can kill without loosing sync, since the game doesn't seem to count knocking them off their boats and drowning them as killing them. I at least expected those guys to swim.

The recruitable Assassins better be able to.
