Hi All. recently fitted a ATI x850xt card. I check out its graphic quality with Ghost recon 3,My tower may not be the best ventilated case, but i was clocking temps of 90-95C. is there a temp range that is acceptable for these high end cards

95C on that cared is VERY high IIR. the 6xxx cards were known as the hot ones and thay normaly only hit 80c and below. i remember reading that the ATI cards were normaly half that. id say you MAY have a problem. post this in comunity help.

I have the same graphics card (x850xt with standart ati cooler), with temps max to 60C (cooler runs at 35% percent in 3D games), cooler controlled via ATITOOL. I know the chip can handle temps up to 100C, but my last card (a simple X800) had a non active cooler, the temps were never above 80C and the gpu died after just an half year.
With my new card, the X850XT, I tried different cooler settings, above 85C I had the first graphic errors on my screen, so I doubt that high temperatures are good http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif also not for the x850xt.
My case is very good ventilated, one 120mm cooler at the front, one 120mm at the back, 2 80mm in the power supply; and the standart ati cooler.

I am running a HIS X850XT and it maxes at about 60C and that is when running the automatic overclock utility (10% overclock on CPU and memory .. woot!)

The one time I got anything resembling overheating is when i fitted a PCI card in the adjoining slot to the X850XT and the card was actually touching the X850XT fan and the fan had stopped turning !!!!
