Dear Oleg:

Now look at what you have done.

Thanks.

My requests:
Please fix the P-51 Model. Inside View of Wings need to be moved forward.

see: http://theghostfiles.org/LSCS1.html

Landing Strut Covers are too short, and there
is too much smoke at start-up.

Is this too much to ask, after buying most of your products? Can it be done?

Regards.

this is not how I was told to ask for favors. I was told to be pleasant and respectful, not demanding and confrontative

TheGhostFiles

This was a request, not a favor. It was thankfull and admirable. It was neither demanding nor confrontational, and was subitted with respect.

Get help.

Please know I have the greatest respect for your commpany, and as a customer, I'm just posting a request. Afterall, you did a great job on the simulation.

Regards and thanks again for a great simulation.

First, don't expect anything that requires a lot of job to be done, next update for il2 series is also last and the team is working on SoW.
Second, unlike IRL, we have fixed view in il2, are you sure the picture on a real 51 isn't taken with the guy being leaned a bit forward or something?

TheGhostFiles
01-21-2007, 09:32 AM
Brain, what is IRL?

Second, that guy is me, I was seated correctly (position to fit me), and the view is exactly what a pilot would see. In fact, I'm only 5'6", and I had the seat was all the way forward. If I were to move the seat back, the wing would be that much more forward.

The wings need to be moved forward.

Regards.

After having a look at some of your vids:

Shift+F1 is your friend...

You are constantly in the leaned back position instead of the gunsight view and that might be the solution to your problem.

BTW, almost every plane has something that is a little off from reality, such as the tailwheel on the Bf109K4 retracting through the tail (lack of doors), the cockpit bar (tm) on the FW190, or the whole cockpit on the SpitVc which is simply mounted 1 or 2 meters too high!

About the smoke on startup, it's the same on every plane and adjusting such a minor detail which doesnt have any effect on gameplay wouldnt make much sense.

TheGhostFiles

Thanks for the info Karaya, didn't know that about the Spit.

It isn't that they are too short, they're just not modeled correctly when in the down position. Part of the cover protrudes out of the top of the P-51's wing. I think too the gear strut doesn't compress enough under the weight of the plane when on the ground. It does spoil the look of the Mustang while on the ground to me, but I doubt we'll ever see it changed.

RJ- Very interesting regarding the struts/shocks.

Brain - yep, this particular 51D is a trainer. You can fly it from the rear seat, for about $800-850USD. The ultimate ride.

"Get help"?

Let me explain something to you. I just tried to help you get what you want, and I didn't have to use a combative tone with you, but you see fit to try that with me

Your initial post may as well say "Oleg you stupid a**hole, look what you screwed up NOW, jerk. Get something right"

Then your reply to me speaks for itself. "ooo, I wasn't doing THAT, you should get help" http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif GF, if this is your idea of how grownups exchange information in the Big Boy World, you'd do better to take your snapshots, put them in an album, and keep your big trap shut. Maybe you can't help being a jerk, but you don't have to work EXTRA hard at it, to make up for all the other jerks who don't give 100%. It may seem to you that you're the only important person on Earth, but you're way off target, superstar.

If you BOTHER to look into the FOV, you may find your answer. But of course you won't, because you obviosuly know EVERYthing. How sad for me that we shall never meet

TheGhostFiles
01-22-2007, 03:15 PM
ooouuuuuuu, I think you made my point.

If you read my original post (left to right, line by line) after "Thanks", there is a link to a movie I made haphazardly. The movie praises Oleg, and the Allied victory over the Axis. Pretty amazing what he did (the simulation PE2).

Then I posted my REQUEST. At the end, I gave my regards.

You interpreted my post wrong.

Get help. Soon.

And if you read mine line by line left to right, you will see that twice now I have been the adult in our conversation, while you insist on the kiddietime BS

Your request is basically flawed. It's been pointed out more than once that your FOV is most likely the culprit. That's "Field Of View", Mr Know-it-all.

Now personally, I don't give f* all about your little crying game any more. Look into it, or don't, but don't bore me with your bull. You are so full of shht they should name toilets after you unless you start checking out some viewpoint options

You want to pule and moan and insist on playing little girl wordgames instead of checking out FOV or some facts, you go right ahead. That plane looks like the CAF's first P-51D to me. I can check it's history easily, but I'm not the one claiming foul, you are.

Get off your smart-mouthed @ss and check out these things, tough guy, or else you stop this horse manure right now http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

TheGhostFiles

You're not telling me anything I'm not aware of. I've looked at all the views.
http://theghostfiles.org/CompareP51wing.html

New Images: See LINK above.
Port Inboard Machine Gun should be visible.

Although this view is the closest to actual,
the wing is too far back, and actually should have some angle to it.

Full zoom-in shows wing is too far back.

Enough of technical talk, although I can provide a bunch more things I would prefer to be corrected.

YOU'RE A FLAMING NUT CASE. Just read your exaggerated, enflamed, un-called for, ridiculous
postings. Then you followed up with fouled mouth and sick responses, which clearly show you
REALLY need help.

BTW, is your name Oleg? You speak for Oleg? My question was submitted to Oleg.

You should not have injected your mis-interpretation in the first place.

I can live with all of the needed corrections in the simulator. I can also live without

visiting this particular web page again. So don't expect me to read your response.

If you are an adult, seriously, get some help.

If your a child, well, you will grow up over time, and get a spell checker.

Good by, and good ridden.

You started this because I reminded you, in a friendly way I might add, to not be such a jerk if you want responses to your requests, or favors, or queries, or musings, or WHATever you'd like to use as a synonym. For some reason, that really put your panties in a bunch, but you think I'm the child-like one.

You also were the one who saw fit to start with personal remarks, but now you don't like that game when I join in. Predicatable. If you don't like the replies you get from me, peruse your comments directed at me. You start off your Cavalcade of Whimsy with an insult to me, and then whine that you're being treated unfairly by my potty mouth.

Now you wrap up by telling me to get a spell checker, when you can't spell the words "you're", "bye", or "riddance"

You need to change your username to "King of Irony".

You don't talk to real people face to face like you decided to talk to me (with no provocation, I might add), why do you think the word "Dorrmat" is tatooed on my chest when you address me online? get over it. Start treating people the way you'd like them to treat you, and you'll get along fine. Why don't you try the manner you like to use with me on the next person you talk to face to face to, and see what happens.

It's a very curius situation...
Somebody give a question - absolutely and straight to Mr Oleg Maddox ( because this is Oleg's Ready Room) and then somebody else but not Mr Oleg answering...VERY, VERY, VERY INTERESTING http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I have a proposition to every body who doing like that:
Please take a some job or get married or anything better but please

Dear Ghostfiles:

Now look at what you have done.

Thanks.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manners

Is this too much to ask, after suffering your rudeness? Can it be done?

Regards, FG.

------------

Long ago, Oleg would respond to things on a regular basis, but he doesn't anymore. This is one of the reasons.

However, I do know from experience that if you make a polite and clear submission to the bug report Email, you will probably get a response. It might also help if you avoid lines like 'Now look at what you have done.'

Hi Holy One

You don't understand how this works. "Mr Oleg" is not going to answer this question. "Mr Oleg" doesn't hang out at the forums waiting for bug reports. There's an e-mail address we are supposed to use for that

The forum name "Oleg's Ready Room" has caused some people to think it's a direct line to Oleg, and at one time it almost was, but that's a long time ago now

The straight direct question to Oleg would sit there until doomsday, and Oleg would almost certainly not see it

You seem to feel people are trying to stand in for Oleg Maddox, and you're mistaken. I'll thank you to leave the personal 'get a job or wife' BS out of it. One could easily say the same to you
