I recently tried to fly my old "Mig Alley" flight sim using my new CH Joystick, Throttle and Rudder Pedals. The game is totally unresponsive to my HOTAS' input. The funny thing is that the game does confirm the presence of CH peripherals. Can anyone tell me how I go about fixing this problem? For what it is worth, the game worked fine with my old Thrustmaster Joystick and Throttle, but that was a long time ago.

I never did get it to recognize my joystick. From Googling, it appears to be a known issue with the game.

It has sat in its box accumulating a layer of dust on it for three years now.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I couldn't get it to respond to my Saitek Cyborg EVO.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I never had the HOTAS set up with that game. On my old Windows 98 box, I used my trusty MS Precision Pro USB twisty stick. I had no pedals back then.

I still use my MS stick with CH pedals now for IL2 stuff.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

From what I remember reading, it usually worked fine on win98. I think the joystick issues mostly come up when you try to run it on xp... although on a winME box I also had it fail to see my joystick. And this wasn't a HOTAS either.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Uninstall it, than reinstall. But before you click the setup.exe, right click on it and select run in Win98 mode. That will install it so it runs in 98 mode and the USB issue will go away.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

W2000/WXP are supposed to have those comaptibility modes.

I have wished at times to be able to switch which DX I am running. Would be sweet as I have
not terribly old games that quit running when I went to DX9.

Was there anything done by the BDG guys about it? Is it a DX problem, the DX won't let the
game grab the resources cause it doesn't say please?

I didn't have any problems with a HOTAS recognition. A good place to try might here: http://www.simhq.com/simhq3/sims/boards/bbs/ultimatebb.php?ubb=forum;f=34

Their installation instructions are precise.

Hope it works for you, it's an awesome game.

I've never tried it with the patch from a couple years ago.
Did they fix the campaign bugs?

It's got a really nice FM if you like flying very carefully and the view system is great.
Only weak spots IMO are the MP and the campaign was buggy back in 1999.
Oh yeah, and you can't fly the Yaks... I bet that could be fixed!

Landing the Sabre in that sim makes many other sim landings look like kid jokes.
