Ni-i-i-i-i-ce!

Had a splendid day in Dorchester yesterday - not only did I pick up a brand new Corgi 1/35th Bader Spit for half price and a 1st edition of The Mighty Eighth by Roger Freeman, I found a splendid little volume entitled "A Guide To Flying" prepared by the staff of the Aeroplane Magazine(1942). Packed full of useful aeronautical information for the budding wartime pilot, adverts for aircraft manufacturers, spark plugs, lubricants and parachutes etc, plus cutaway diagrams of de Havilland airscrews and carburretors. Now all I've got to do is buy a scanner with the other half of the housekeeping money and share this wonderful information.

Ah, Dorchester... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif We used to stop there in the late 60's early 70's on the way to Weymouth for our annual Summer Hol's. Where we would get our bread and rolls for our picnic lunch. (In those days a trip to Weymouth from Bridgwater seemed to take all day http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif) Off we would go in Dads Riley One point Five (With Twin SU's I seem to remember http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif) Hot sunny days trapped in a mobile oven in the back seat of the Riley with my sister on the right and our Fox Terrier (Sugar No.1 There was a number 2 as well!) And Dad the only one allowed to have his window open...Mum with her over powering scent mixed with the heavy aroma of grilled two-tone green leather cloth. It was years before we could get to Weymouth without stopping for me to be car sick... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif Ah... The memories come flooding back!

Second thought's http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-mad.gif I bloody hate Dorchester...

But seriously... It's a nice little place is Dorchester, steeped in History (Roman) Glad to hear you had a nice time Low_Flyer

Great stuff!

Here's to getting in the next/final patch.

Sorry Icefire - but Mossie first, then the Tempest is my hope.
