@ general_kalle: I agree, seriously. I mean yes, early ejector seats were deadly when used on the ground, but it complicates the process of getting out of the aircraft after a mission.

I'd like there was a way to get out of the planes without breaking your canopy, run and jump to earth. It's ridiculous. In bombers, everybody runs away like someone has just 'cut the cheese' inside... yuck! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

It's not a bug, it's feature. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Two days ago on Daii server I laid the Lerch in horizontal position..............

Did a few spins at max power, it worked well.

However, I got too much rudder happy, broke the pit and lawn darted my head in the ground. PK.

But Lerch continued to spin around happily.

I never get to the bailing part.

I don't know where to find it, but one 8AF escort pilot wrote abot seeing a damaged B-17 crewman climb out on the wing without a chute, the guy tried to get back in but blew off. I keep visualizing that ever since. Anybody know who wrote that?

Don't know about the B-17 crewman but in either "Bomber Boys" or "Tail-End Charlies" there's a similar story about a Lanc crewman who crawled out on the wing with no chute to put an engine fire out. Can't remember if he made it back in though...

IIRC it was a Wellington and I'm pretty sure he made it back in and got a medal for it
