I don't get the point in this? The Devs know its a problem, Nvidia know its a problem. Doing this won't make it fixed faster and the options are pointless and people with Nvidia cards are the only onces to suffer. So the other options should be scraped, so it then won't be a poll.

I only voted out of bordem http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

But "I" want to know how MANY of us are experiencing this. So "neener" http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif

So the choices should be

How many experience the problem

Yes
No

That simple

Nvidia 6600GT and love it. Only get the video particule bug on the UZO. Am running ver. 1.2

anyone noticed that in 1.0 and 1.1 the UZO bug was not only obstructing the view but also lagging the game down to like 1-2fps, but now with 1.2 there is pretty much no fps drop, half-fixed problem?

Those are older drivers. I wonder if they have anything to do with it? Maybe I should roll back my drivers.

Took Nvidia driver particle down to 70 now happily using UZO on Nvidia 5500. Slows frame rate in use and still get temp wash out with spray but UZO fully useable. Running on older Nvidia drivers not the latest 71.**

How did you do that?! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif enlighten us...

What exactly did you do? I am using 56.72 drivers on my FX 5950 Ultra (have a problem with severe artifacts in another game with newer drivers).

If you lose frame rate and still get temp wash out from spray (which IS the UZO bug) how do you consider the UZO fully useable? By default, the UZO is useable regardless of the washout bug (ie...the UZO actually "works"...you just can't see through it..lol).

My point is you (as the rest of us) are just turning down your graphics in order to play the game. Fine for now, but the particle bug needs to be fixed, not just worked around. For the life of me, I cannot understand why a bug that affects a very large group (if not majority) of the vid cards in use today could not have been fixed by the devs/nVidia prior to release.

Anyway, just venting.

Yes please fix this problem, so I can do surface attacks without using the periscope! Either add an option to disable the "spray" in the UZO. Or raise the UZO so that it's at the same height as the binoculars. This bug ruins the game - it takes the fun out of surface attacks.

I have the UZO bug.

Have nvidia fx5900sx. ver 1.1 The graphics look very nice and everything smooth.. And if i want to look at target etc there is always the option to use the peroscope without any problem. First i thought it was a feature that you cant look forward out on deck if you are not on complete stop.

Well anyway love this game.

Hope they will fix this bug sone.. But i dont want a driver from nvidia that removes some other graphical features.. in that case i can live with the UZO bug.

Sorry for my bad eng. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

It's only Ubi or Nvidia that can fix the frame rate drop in using the UZO so until they do you have a choice. What you want to do? Wait for the fix or "get fixed up" until they do.

No magic fix I'm afraid but sliding the particle down to 70 in the game options video settings and unchecked synchronisation has made the UZO more than useable for me

If you think about it, in real life if you were on watch and got drenched with spray you wouldn't be able to see/ do anything for a few seconds anyway.

Remember you can use shift to quickly rotate the UZO past the spray

Targetting using the persicope bounces around in rough seas while the UZO is stable http://www.bs.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/uzo%20cargo2.JPG
Here's a lone cargo about to get one up the rear using the UZO. That's useable for me!

I'd vote in this poll, but I'm not sure what it's asking.

If I voted ATI, would that mean I am an ATI user suffering from UZO problem? But that would be incorrect, since I don't :P

So it is related to the v-sync? I didn't know that. Now I'm gonna have to experiment some more. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

Just tested that theory. I ran at 70 particle density and offed the sync. No luck... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-mad.gif

I have an fx5900xt, get the uzo bug and it drives me crazy. I go to the driver site every day and download whatever is new! The SHIII devs were very remiss in releasing this game which has such a fundamental flaw for SO many user! They must have realised this bug a LONG time ago but kept it quiet cos they new sales would suffer, capitalism is great! Will Nvidia fix the prob? Well that will depend on whether or not the prob can be fixed without comprimising the functionality of the particle systems in 99.9% of other games. Personally I am gonna go ATI next upgrade and I will never ever buy another game on the day it comes out, I'll wait to see the complaints list. My 0.02$.
