There's a project to restore a Blenheim to flying condition that is being worked on at Canadian Warplane Heritage. It's been a long project but and it didn't look like an airplane for a long time but the last time I saw it things were starting to come together.

In case there is any confusion, Canadian built Blenheim Mark IVs were called the "Bolingbroke". No idea why there was a name change.

I hope to be able to see it flying some day!

The nose is slightly different on the Bolingbroke. They have been working on it for quite some time at CWH as well.

That's great stuff. I didn't know there were so many flying Spitfires.

That 109 doesn't look quite like a 109. It looks like the planes they used in the 1960s movie Battle of Britian. The cowling is different. Anybody know what that plane is? Is it a postwar foreign model or something?

You're right i think it is a Spanish version of the 109 which is not powered by the V-inverted Daimler but with a RR Merlin: i think the Spanish called it the Buchon (pidgeon?)...

It is the same one, well possibly. They built a Blenhiem which crashed on one of it's first flights on Denham Golf course [alleged pilot/throttle engine management problem] .

The forgotten bomber by Graham Warner covers that airframe http://www.warbirdalley.com/blenheim.htm
It was then replaced and another built which i think is the Black one in your sig.
That airframe then made a crash landing at Duxford a few years ago http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/eng...dgeshire/3162809.stm (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/cambridgeshire/3162809.stm)

This airframe is now being rebuilt [see the photo posted above] with an older nose fitted for insurance purposes in mind for weight i think.
Hope this helps. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Yes, this Buchon has been restored to how it appeared in the Battle Of Britain movie!

I really enjoyed the sound that the Mustangs made at low level and how the Piper Cubs could do a flat turn ( no banking) in the air almost on the spot - amazing! Also it was bloody hot, had to sit inside for the last hour with cold beer.

Will do a part 2 post with other pics later on tonight.
