I saw a B-17 fly overhead yesterday while at my son's football practice. I believe it was headed to Manasses Regional Airport... I think there is an airshow there this weekend. I saw in the paper where you could go on a ride on the B-17 for $325... Ill be passing on that of course.. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/cry.gif but I think the cub and I will trek on down there before or after his game with Vienna and check it out. Last year it was pretty nice.. they had a Corsair there... a B-25... the one with the dragon on the side... and lots of other stuff. I got some nice pics. I'll take some new ones this weekend and post them if I do manage to make it.

Knowing Bearcat's photography skills, we should see many pics of the backs of people's heads and legs. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/mockface.gif

Look forward to the photos.

LOL...... be nice.. besides I got some good ones too... Thats the one thing ihate about digital cameras. That delay. You almost have to anticipate the shot.

Thats why i only use my old digital job for still stuff (new eos 20Ds a little expensive rgiht now, but they could sure deal with it).

I use my older cannon T-90 35mm wiht my 100 to 500mm lens and 400 speed film. THat works real well, no matter the speed.

A CAnnon Digital rebel (even the old model) is fast enough to do excellent airborne shots, for those that are keeping notes.

Remember, use 1/250th shutter speed for prop planes, and 1/500th for jets. About 50 airshows worth of photos taught me that.

I think the B-17 belongs to the Collings foundation, or maybe the EAA. They come by here sometimes to.

There will be 3 WW2 birds coming to the Hazleton municipal airport in Pa. on Oct 3rd, 4th, and 5th. I believe the B-17 is the nine o nine , The B-24 is "The Dragon and (his or her) tail", and a new addition.....some B-25. I think they are also from the Collings foundation. My son and i love to walk thru them when they are in town. They also offer rides for a $300.00 or so fee. Love to here those motors hum when they are flying around town. My sister in law lives right on the end of the runway and it is the best time. Kind of like at the beginning of the movie Memphis Belle when the crew were playing football and just then that B17 flew over head..........Totally kool http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif

the dragon and his tail has been repainted in od green as another b24, i forget the name. They also have the only civilian F-4 Phantom, an F-4D that steve ritchie (5 migs-vietnam) flies at shows sometimes.

its really hard to keep up wiht stuff like that and when its gonna show up etc.
