Got DSL just for the game.
I download & burn for friends with 56ers.
Oh God the memories from the Good Old Days .
Spending the week end in a sleep & check mode down loading the New Internet Explorer verion??.
Chasing the severs across the world for the best download speeds.Only took 48 hours.

The download file sizes these days are God awful large these days. No mercy for the slow connects.

Best of luck
Been there done that.
Wish I could hand you a CD with the updated files.

Well, if you're downloading on 56k, you definetly shouldn't be browsing the forums. I left my PC alone and got the whole patch in one try with 56k (in 2 hours).

I DL'ed Getright Download manager before DLing the patch ( it only took about 1 minute - the manager that is)

i,m sure it's knocked about an hour of the DL time - it's got quite a few cool features aswell (as has most DL managers probably)

trial version is available at www.Getright.com (http://www.Getright.com)

I got cable about 6 months ago, never go back to a phone line now.
Got up at 5-30 am went Online and saw the patch was out, so I connected to an Australian 3D gamers site, and started down loading.
I only had just enough time for my cup of Tea to be made properly ( about 10 minutes) and the Patch was down loaded.

So I had just enough time to install it before having Break fast and then off to work.

No time to play till after work, any how the day I stop Online gaming will be the day I give up Cable, not a day before.

The netherlands server on gamerhell was very fast for 56kers late last night - should be very quiet now - worth a try if UK people are still trying to download

I used to be in the same 56k boat but this is nothing. I'm a X-plane fan and sometimes when I wanted to update to a new ( frequently ) version, I had to download a file about 120Mb!!!!! I usually did it overnight and prayed my connection didn't crap out. 41Mb would have seemed small to me.
