Neat documents! One of the pilots in the covering groups is a family member. I never met him, though. I'll have to forward these to my grandfather. He'll get a kick out of it.

LOL, I think I have flown this scenario in IL-2 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
There is a Yamamoto intercept mission is available on the 102nd COOP server, see the briefings
U.S. (http://web.t-online.hu/rnzoli/IL2DSC/cmirko_mission_briefings/SO/01/01_red.html)
Japanese (http://web.t-online.hu/rnzoli/IL2DSC/cmirko_mission_briefings/SO/01/01_blue.html)
This mission can be called up anytime, with DSC MAP Special Yamamoto (currently map 13, mission 01).

In my memories, the P-38s were able to accomplish the mission, but they always lost more than 1 P-38s. Overall mission statistics (http://web.t-online.hu/rnzoli/IL2DSC/stats-coop-cmirko.html#01_SO_Yamamoto).

Recommended to history buffs wholeharteadly.

Historical reality like this is what makes IL2 all the more rewarding to fly for me. They don`t half release these documents late though... Perhaps it`s the same with some guncams and why we`re seeing new stuff lately?

Perfect, thats the kind of history related stuff I like to see. I sort of had a hunch when I got to the third page, and they were talkiing bout P-38s and Bettys, that it was the Yamamoto shoot down. Very cool stuff indeed.
I'm trying to create a mission resmebling that now.
