View Full Version : Are there any good "what-if" campaigns for Il-2, like set in 1946?

Well Il-2 1946 has been out for a while but I'm sort of curious if there have been any good "what-if" campaigns made for the 1946 planes.

I flew the Do-335 against some Il-10's last night in QMB and I just loved it, I think it would be fun to do some missions like that. Maybe the Ta-183 or other jets could make an appearance, plus UP 2.0 opens up some new possibilities with the flyable Me-410, Bf-109K14 and some other goodies.

Anyway I don't think I'd want to make a really serious campaign, but something like 10 missions could be fun, and if there are already some campaigns out there I could try them out and see what other people have done.

Also what is the policy here for campaigns that require mods? Obviously no tech support, but what about giving out a M4T link? I recently made some mini-campaigns for UP 2.0 and got some decent feedback so I might put them up on M4T and after I do that maybe drop a line here about it.

they've been lax on mod discussion but I think there is still no mod linking at all.

back on topic... check out M4T, I know they have some lerche campaigns and some other crazy stuff... they also have a mods section for mission downloads that may have some other interesting stuff *COUGH* Korea *COUGH*

have you tried the static campaigns that were released with '46, they are pretty much what you describe. can't remember what there called off hand, but theres certainly one for the russians, and one for the germans.

Edit, VVS46 for the USSR, and The Rebel and Burning Streak (ones an ardo jet bomer campaign)for the luftwaffe.

But giving a link to the campaign wouldn't be a link to a mod, it would be a link to a campaign that is basically just some data. I've seen people post M4T links to campaigns that required mods here before but I just want to make sure how kosher it is.

Also so far I'm seeing an He-162 campaign called Baltic Sparrows, a Ta-183 mini-campaign by I think IceFire, Sonderkommandos 3 which has a bunch of jets and so on, and a Lerche campaign.

I made two what-if campaigns.

The Shooting Stars - http://mission4today.com/index...s&file=details&id=55 (http://mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads&file=details&id=55)

Green Hearts: 1946 - http://mission4today.com/index...file=details&id=2205 (http://mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads&file=details&id=2205)

The first one is longer but it is also my first effort so it isn't quite as polished as the rest (although I played it through recently and surprised myself somewhat). Also it was made when AEP came out so some of the more recent additions are not present. Green Hearts: 1946 is using the Ta183 and whatever was in 4.07.

Haven't done any what-if since then. I may some time... who knows.
