Changing it so that the AI will not try to land untill all live pilots have landed first. In coops particularly PF coops it is so annoying having to wave off again and again because some AI plane has locked in the landing pattern and wont wave off. Particularly when you are low on fuel or damaged. Is this doable?

Land on the taxi way...stories of World War II landings sound more chaotic than they should have been. So take it in stride http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

It would be nice if the AI was still awake when they go to land. They won't even attack bandits if they run across them.

Anyone ever read the story about the 109 that mistakenly entered a landing pattern with Spitfires. Nobody noticed till the ground crew went to refuel the plane and couldn't find the fuel cap http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Thats a great little story Icefire! Old WWII plane stories are awesome.

Long time ago I posted a question for Oleg in this forum, regarding AI behaviour when attacked during landing. Now, they just fly blindly in approach circle as a target drone.

Oleg responded, that in BOB this will get fixed, so AI will "disengage" landing mode if necessary.

As soon as I get close to base I ask for clearance and land quick. I'm not going to fly in circles for a 1/2 hour after a long mission while the AI decides who's landing next.

If you're the flight leader, try using the Tactical/Formation Change menu to instruct the others in your flight to "line astern". The AI still does some squirrely things and may ditch, but at least maybe you'll get to sequence for the trap before they do. As someone mentioned, try to coordinate requests for landing as far out as possible with the humans in your group. I still occasionally see AI crash land into people doing carrier co-ops. It's not as bad as it used to be, but I hope it gets addressed.

If that had any basis in reality, the Air Marshall should've had everybody's head on a stick if those big black crosses on the 109 didn't raise a flag.

Its a great idea I agree. Making major changes to AI isn't really realistic in this stage of the game with 1c trying to put the wraps on FB I would think. It will take awhile to rewrite the code for a smarter AI, plus even once its done they'll have to test every possible scenario with every possible airplane because god forbid they make a mistake the vulchers in this forum will be all over it. Alas, its a pipe dream... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

We'll just have to wait for BoB I guess...

And to think people argue why the Germans could possibly have lost the war! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

That story is true.. I read it as well.

I'd like to see an option to have a 'piority landing' that you (or AI) could call when your plane is badly damaged, forcing others to wait.

They're possibly trying to stay in formation with you. Give them the "Return to base" command, and they'll back off.

p.s. did you get my e-mail? I also sent you a PM at netwings (same message)

I saw something similar this week that I'd never seeen before - An AI plane gets the "go around" from the tower, but he says, "Negative, I'm coming in!" He was pretty badly shot up.

Has anyone else seen that?
