I don't know? They're kinda "*****y" like that. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif
I wonder how they ever came up with some of the markings used.

Oh JESUS! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

that wasn't fixed? Who over at the 1C: workshops needs a new eyeglass prescription? It's just a decal, why isn't this corrected? This has been a glaring error from the first!

Agreed. I have posted on this several times over the years.

That's fantastic, but my opinion is that we shouldn't need MAT manager to fix this, it should be fixed in-game

They should have just bought MAT and made it part of the game itself, IMHO.

Aces has sent dozens of emails to Oleg, Starshoy and Luthier offering the Mats for free, and never had response.
Of course that should be integrated on the games! Tell it to Oleg & Co. They should think that there are more important thinks than the markings.
But in the wait, I use my mate´s markings. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

This is why hammerd should do it:

Those default markings are shocking. It was one thing having them in Il2, but PF is a game in which the US forces play a rather more essential role.

A.K.Davis, you´re mixing two different things. There are skins with markings integrated on them and there are markings for using on clean skins.
In some cases, the default skins, as in the case of the P-51 on USAAF service, have "integrated" the markings. Of course, the skin integrated markings are better, but are a different thing.

Might I also mentions the RAF roundels are still generally wrong from all of the screen shots I've seen.

Lots of time was spent to make the VVS and Luftwaffe markings look fairly authentic, and granted that a one size fits all has to be undertaken even for those, but their accuracy VS the RAF ones is a huge discrepancy. The US ones are less of an issue because any US flown plane gets proper markings put on the default skin but if you wanted US markings on other aircraft that were not typically part of US services (i.e. Corsair Mk I - a "British" aircraft in usage) then it looks simply terrible.

I have not yet seen a proper SEAC roundel put on British aircraft in this game yet. I don't have it but I have not yet seen a screen shot. So I'm a little worried on markings and their relative historical accuracy.

personally I think all the in game roundels look like **** since the original IL2. It's one of the aspects of the game that always bothers me. The new japanese markings really look out of place... I guess that why I use mat manager. I really wish the marking were correct for theatre and also more worn/dirty looking.

No, I'm not confused. I'm not worried about non-U.S. aircraft having silly U.S. markings, already silly to be flying them with U.S. markings. What I'm concerned about is U.S. aircraft not having "integrated" markings, i.e. this Corsair, P-40M, etc. I could care less what U.S. markings look like on the Zero, but it's a shame to see that beautiful Corsair tarnished with that lunchbox sticker.

But even the "default" U.S. marking could easily be toned down to make it somewhat more realistic.

Keep in mind, as far as I know...thats a FAA Corsair (a Mk I). It shouldn't even have USA markings on it (British ones). Every F4U Corsair we've seen does have proper US markings on it.

If thats the issue you have then your issue is solved. A few of our other issues are not.
