True Pacific 0.07c DGen campaign mod is available at Flying Legends: True Pacific 0.07c (http://www.flying-legends.net/php/downloads/download.php?id=4020)

or Combat Ace: True Pacific 0.07c (http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?download=2597)

0.07b had a couple of erroneous files (Midwaybmb.db, planesUM1, campaignsUM1) that were cuasing errors with some of the Wake Midway operations. These have been replaced with the correct files, and errors with the USMC Wake and IJN/USN Midway Divebomber should be corrected 0.07c. Please use version 0.07c, and not TruePacific 0.07b or earlier, or any of the TrueDGen versions.

MAIN FEATURES
1) Adds 11 new DGen operations and 4 new DGen careers for the Pacific Theater.
2) Order of Battle extensively researched to put the right planes and squadrons in the campaign.
3) Ops file is based, as much as possible, on the mission reports and pilot accounts of actual air engagements that occurred during the various campaigns.
4) Planes, ships, AAA, artillery, and everything else is placed in as accurate position as possible based on my research and map/game limitations.
5) New campaign briefings.
6) Use skins so aircraft are painted and marked as they were historically.

New 0.07
Enhancements
1. Added short 318th Fighter Group career, focused on CAS and patrol ops over the Marianas, June-August 1944
2. Added Marinanas P-47D-22 CAS operation (see above)
3. Added historically correct air OBs to Marianas operations
4. Modded Midway to True Pacific standard
5. Included new Midway skins for the D3A1, F4F-3, F2A-2, and E13A1-11c (Ar-196A3)

This version is a little shorter on new material than I'd prefer, as I am going out of town soon and pretty much had to release what I had finished. The 318th FG career is not as polished as I would like (don't worry, it still worked fine in my testing), and there were some further tweaks planned for the all the carrier ops, but that will have to wait till 0.08 I guess.

Hi Nimits! Looks like the IJN and USN Dive Bomber campaigns at Midway aren't working. I just get the BEEEP noise when I try to run them. The USMC one works and the Fighter campaign seems to work fine, at least they start normally http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif
Thanks for the improvements, SP pacific campaigns are my favorite!

I had problems getting the Midway campaign to work as well. Try renaming the folder it's in. I shortened the name and took the underscore out and that seemed to fix it.

The folder (dgen_2_midwaybmbdoe0) does get generated when I attempt to start the campaign, but the campaign itself does not generate, ie. the folder is empty. I can change the name of the folder, but it doesn't seem to help, I still just get a BEEEP and nothing happens, except another empty folder is generated. Mind you this is just the USN/IJN Midway campaign for Dive Bombers, all the other works fine. Did I dork-up the install? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

I can't edit the first post for whatever reason, so I'll post then new info down here:

True Pacific DGen campaign mod is available at Flying Legends: http://www.flying-legends.net/php/downloads/download.php?id=3887

(I am still unable to upload the new file to Combat Ace; I'm not sure if it is them or me.)

For those of you having errors in the Midway Op using Mission Distance settings of >200, it seems I inadvertanly inserted the wrong version of the MidwayBlue0.mis in the download. This is corrected in True Pacific 0.07b.

Thanks Nimits, I actually just ran into this on a IJN fighter campaign, so this fix was nice to see.

Enjoying TruePacific a lot btw, nice job!

Nimits,

Which version do I need then for it to be correct? I am confused here... do I need 07a or 07b? Thanks,

sledgehammer2

0.07b

All True Pacific Downloads are full versions, so no need to download earlier versions.

Alot of times I forget to ask Flying Legends to take the old versions down, that is all . . .

Nimits

Evidently, the third time is the charm. SOMEHOW, 0.07b still ended up on Flying Legends with the wrong MidwayBlue0.mis. I remember putting the right one in the .zip, and I remember uploading 0.07b to the internet, but even still . . . I am having serious gremlin problems here . . .

Anyway the corrected file is NOW up on Flying Legends and should available from Combat Ace soon. (see top of page).

Sorry about all that.

Just downloaded 0.07c. Now can I ask a really stupid question? I saved it to my desktop and double clicked it... I see all the files inside and also another zip file that is called True Pacific. I am confused on how to get this installed.

Could someone please refresh my memory on how to install this? The more detail the better. Thanks, and Nimits thankyou for your work!!

Regards,
Sledgehammer2

I have a question too. Can I just paste this into the games DGen folder overwritting anything that might be there, or do I need to uninstall the prior version first?

Sledghammer,
Take the zip and the Read Me's out of the folder. The zip has some skins in it. After you take the zip and Read Me's out, copy and paste the contents into the DGen folder in the game's main directory,IL-2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles.

Unzip the skins and insert them in the proper files. It has a complete directory tree from Program Files down, so you can just drop it in your C: if you like.

ONLY COMPATIBLE WITH COMBINED INSTALL, ENGLISH VERSION (Pacific Fighters stand alone version and other lanugage versions planned for the future)

1) BACKUP your DGen folder. Please.

2) Extract the files to \Program Files\Ubi Soft\IL-2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles\DGen (or whatever you Forgotten Battles\DGen directory is, if you have installed to other than the default location). Then, extract the files in TruePacificSkins to whatever drive you installed the game on (assuming default directory). If you have changed the directory from the default, you will have to install the skins manually into the IL-2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles\Paint Schemes\Skins . . .

Each True Pacific install is designed be a complete packaged, therefore, there is no need to install, reinstall, or uninstall previous versions. v0.04 contained a list of files included in 0.03, that were no longer needed for 0.04+ and could be deleted if desired. However, other than taking up a few kilobytes of drive space, they have no effect on DGen or the system.

FYI for everyone asking about install instructions, readmes, etc.:

The zip file inside the TruePacific .zip is called TruePacificSkins. It contains, amazingly, skins. There is a readme in the file, called interestingly enough, TruePacificReadme.txt. Installation instructions are towards the bottem of the file, under a remarkable heading: INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS (as posted above by Snuffy Smith).

I have tried to make the install instructions as is simple and comprehensive as possible; if anyone sees something in there that just doesn't make sense, please let me know so I can clarify it for the next version.

Nimits I am sorry if my question seemed that stupid but I am just not too handy with computers. I went ahead and tried what was in the above post. I already had the earlier version (not sure which). I tried to start an IJN career 1st Air Fleet Wake Island. I press the generate button, I hear one click and then nothing. It doesn't start, doesn't crash, nothing. What did I do wrong? It would generate campaigns fine before. I checked my other careers (non Pacific) and they appeared to load fine.

I can't imagine what I did wrong. ******* it sucks being stupid.
