On Friday July 27th, I suprised to see a white hooded figure in front of the San Diego convention center. As a looked closer, his hood had a "beak" on it.

(note - he had a LCD monitor attached to his back which displayed the AC trailer)

I of course ran up to him and asked if he was the Altair...all he said was to find the pocket books as he handed me a leaflet.
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y257/JediBaja/Conventions/DSC01755.jpg

It states:

Damascus 1191 AD

Your actions have disgraced the Hashishin sect and your service to Al Mualim. In order to redeem yourself and rank as master assassin you must join Altair, venture into the holy land and assassinate the nine men who are exacerbating and exploiting the hostilities created by the Third Crusade.

Find The Nine, eliminate the threat and save civilization! Your first three targets are the cruel Tamir, the unethical Garnier de Naplouse and fanatical Majd Addin...

All you need to fulfill your quest can be found in the Assassin's Pocket Books of Knowledge.

Seek out the Pocket Books, identify a fellow assassin and your First Task will be complete.

The key to your survival is to live by all you've been taught-

- Draw attention away from yourself, disappear within a crowd

- Tap into the Assassins power of intuition

- Plan your attacks, strike without mercy, and fight your way to escape

Above all else, remember the Tenets of the Assassin's Creed "Nothing is TRUE, Everything is PERMITTED"

Basically, they had a little scavenger hunt going on. The first clue was to find a missing pocket book. I found some medival crusaders in the exhibit hall who were also with the Assassin's Creed "team" and they game me a plastic severed finger.

(I went back another time and stole some from my friends)

I gave the finger (hee!) to some other crusaders at the NECA booth. In return, I received an medal/mediallion with an AC logo on it.

So after reading some of the threads here, I noticed the mention of Pocket Books in the leaflet. A little self-promotion for the upcomming books I guess.

Another interesting fact is the mention of the first three targets: Tamir, Garnier de Naplouse, and Majd Addin.

So far I've only found info on Garnier de Naplouse. He was a Grand Master of the Sovereign Military Order of Saint-Johnor or a Hospitaller (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knights_Hospitaller). The websites that I looked at have his date of death from 1190-1192, which makes him work for the game.

Hehe, yeah the outfits there weren't entirely accurate.

(sorry for the darkness/blurryness)

The guys that I saw there didn't really have boots either. Most of the time just fake extensions and brown leather slip shoes. The rest of it, especially the hood/outer cloak was pretty good though.

Although I do have an extra, I really like it. Possibly in the future I'll decided to sell it. I know there is one on ebay now for about $13.

Well from this we found out about 3 new people from the 9 so overall we know 5 of them. One guy from the demo and the other guy who you can find on wikipedia who got control of acre at the time.

I still hope we got a bit more information though. I'm gonna go do research about the three guys mentioned.

He doesn't have the gauntlet on and the switchblade is attached to his finger and looks way too different.

If you look at the first photo, he has the "dagger" on his right hand, when in should be on his left. It woulda been pretty pricey to make the retractable assassin blade for all of the cosplayers there. I think the freddy kruger solution is pretty clever though.

Oh and swiftslasher7, that would be dudette http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

Good to know. When I tell people what it means, they don't understand and think it means lower (ala Baja California).

Any new info on the 5 targets?

Well actually he didn't do himself because he was there helping promote the game and the NECA figurines/prototype. In fact I saw at least 3 other guys, one with glasses and one african-american with the same exact outfit. I personally think the outfit is quite good and I posted the picture for all potential Altair cosplayers out there. Just don't forget the boots! You have no idea how bad a jedi looks with rubber boots on or worse...sneakers. Ugh!
