Hi all. I haven't played a good helo sim since Longbow 2, and am starting to miss them. Are there any good helo sims out there?

one helo sim that imo is better than longbow, is the enemy engaged series, apache/havoc,comanche/hocum. the two separate games can be joined together to play all the campaigns and fly the helo's from both versions and the mod community has added loads of stuff too. it is an older sim too, havent heard too much about any new ones though

Apache: Longbow Assault published by Activision Value is supposed to come out 01 Feb '04. Low purchase price makes me think that it won't be very sim oriented, but leaning toward arcadish. Could be wrong.

Good hunting,

Meanwhile, in the 20th century:

BOOM! Yeah, Alright you primitive screwheads, listen up. See this? This is my T-Bolt!! It's has 8 .50cals and 2000lbs+ worth of bombs and rockets. Republic's top of the line. You can find this in the Kick A$$ department. That's right, this sweet baby was made in Farmingdale, Long Island and Evansville, Indiana. Retails for about $82,997.95. It's got a turbo-supercharger, all metal control surfaces with blunt nosed ailerons, and a hair trigger. That's right, shop smart, shop Republic. YOU GOT THAT!? Now I swear, the next one of you primates, E-ven TOUCHES me..... - Anonymous http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

The only thing that comes close to it, will probably be Operation: Flashpoint ][. Physics were rather good in the first part.

Don't like the original EE, though there are some nice addons around.

There is also a FairStrike. Russian hellicopter industry helped developing it. I tried the demo, it's ok.

Operation Flashpoint, no doubt.

The FM has been improved a lot since the release code and even thouhg the avionics are close to non-exintent, the landscape detail is head and shoulders above anything out there. Something crucial for a Helicopter sim.

There are so many great user made choppers for it. From Hueys to Pumas or even Mi-2s. And almost anything is possible with some of them: CAS, Carry troops, load vehicles in the cargo bay, paradrop cargo, rappel grunts to the ground...

This is a good place for daily news and addons.
