Just bought ch rudder pedals and f 16 fighterstick from Ebay. They connect through a gameport, not usb. I've downloaded the drivers from ch. I think the drivers are labelled "chanlg08" This causes various ch sticks to be listed in the joystick window accesed off the control panel on windows xp. I notice that the list of sticks includes: f 16 flightstick, and ch fighterstick but not f 16 fighterstick. Don't know if this is significant. anyway, I've tried all the likely sticks and the result is the same. The 8 way pov hat is not recognised and can't be calibrated at all (it's greyed out) and the other 3 four way hats are not there at all. One of the directions on one of the hats is recognised as button 3. Basically the drivers I downloaded clearly are not right as my stick is not properly recognised. Please help and please note, I've been to the ch hanger and downloaded the drivers that I thought would be right but they clearly aren't. The rudder pedals work but IL2 doesn't seem to recognise the brake function on them.
I'm desperate to try my new stick and pedals out.
does anyone think a gameport to usb adapter would solve the problem?
I've no other sticks plugged in

I think your answer may be here

The problem seems insurmountable at least more complicated than just some drivers (if this link brakes any rules pls remove) (http://combatsim.invisionzone.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2846)

These are the drivers mentioned (http://www.download.com/CH-Gameport-Device-Drivers/3000-2110_4-10199549.html)

I'm using xp. I'm wondering if one way to get to use this kit with sturmovik would be to try and install win 98 or 2000 on an old pc and see if they would work with that set up . I'm desperate to use them as I'm sure they'd be great.
Any advice appreciated.

Stick with the XP

USB Converter mode two is the winner (http://www.cableguyusa.com/cgi-bin/cable/601-733.html)

have you tried a converter (at least for the pedals)

The stick is another problem it may need rewiring (sell it and get a usb version)

stick with xp

Thanks for the photo. I've just ordered a converter. I don't think it'll work for the stick but it should work for the pedals. Incidentally, do the toe brakes work or just the rudder?

just to say, thanks for the replies and I got a converter and the rudder pedals work fine. No toe brakes but that's ok. I'll have to save for a usb fighterstick I think.
