Hi All

Just a question regarding the medals we (as players) can earn.

What is the qualifying criteria for all the medals you can earn? and the Promotion steps?

Is it a certain amount of renown for each level or do you have to carry out any special objectives in each patrol?

Thanks in advance for your help?

In the SH3 folder in data > cfg, there is a .cfg file (basic.cfg i think) that has the specifics.

Promotion and medals are both based on total renown. One rank could need, for example, 10,000 renown, but it's not what you've got to this date - it's what you currently have. So you'll need to save up and not spend any renown in order to get promoted and get awarded medals, even though they don't change the game any appart from pictures.

Hope this melps m8 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Yes - it does thanks - I was just curious as to the mechanics of the awards system. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Goose, you wouldn't happen to be in the Parachute Regiment?

That windswept rock covered in barren moors? It is the worst posting in the British Armed services. We used to call it the Deathstar for some reason. Never found out why.

I started a patrol and ended it before I even turned the engines over and got the iron cross 2nd class. Go figure http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

No I didn't keep it. I started a new patrol later

No I'm not, and it's the first time anyone has realised the significance of the user name. I was struggling to find a suitable user name at the time I was first playing multiplayer with Medal of Honor - incidently it was at the time that we were commemorating the battle!

But I know a few guys from 2 Para who fought at Goose Green in '82 maximum respect - not a pleasant battle and one that many people don't realise the fact the Argies had over 1,000 troops while us Brits had a battalion and were outnumbered - and even managed to bluff a great victory!

The Falklands has often being remarked to remind many a Brit soldier of a place called the Brecon Beacons in Wales - barren windswept and very wet! Especially the infanteers, who do quite a bit of training there - The "Regiment" http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif also do their selection training there too!
