My old gran was the nicest, sweetest, kindest old dear ever, really - even looked liked grandma from 'Tweety Pie'. There was nothing she liked better than watching two men stripped to the waist knocking seven shades out of each other. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

Hatton FTW.

I flew out of Manchester Airport on business on Wednesday morning. As I got out of the taxi, there was a few groups of lads going into the terminal, thought it was odd to see so many stag parties going out - didn't twig till I got into the airport; it was absolutely rammed with some of the nastiest looking Mancs you've ever seen. Gotta hope for the sake of Vegas that Hatton wins, or at least it's a non-contentious result.

Having said that I remember watching some plucky Welsh scrapper take on a rangy American fighter when I was a kid, and he got battered. Couldn't get near the Yank. Kept going but... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Hope it's not going to be the same, for Hatton's sake, tonight.

Bravely fought Hatton, congratulations Mayweather http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif

No Bill, I didn't have a bet on.

Dont get me wrong, I understand that you were being "humorous" in your post, but the point is, going ten rounds in a title fight is no laughing matter for either fighter. Maybe it's a guy thing, maybe thats why you dont "get it".

My brother in law was a boxer, and used to hang out with Floyd Sr....Every now and then they would pop in at my house in Grand Rapids, Jr. in tow. I liked the Mayweather family, very talented boxer's

it was a great match and Hatton fought hard throughout.

It takes a ton of courage to step into the ring.

These days not too many undefeated fighters will risk their records against another top opponent - and Mayweather can throw.

It was a fight like the old Sugar Ray vs Hagler variety and those haven't been seen in a while.

Congratulations to the winner and to the venerable challenger - hopefully a rematch in England is in order...

I stayed up for this one along with the rest of the houseful. I dont think we got to bed until about 6am so needless to say i was knackered earlier but it was well worth staying up for. I wouldve liked to see Hatton win but he didnt and while i dont normally like Mayweathers self assured self promotion he was very very respectful in his win and made no attempts to belittle Hatton, good sportsmanship is a rare thing these days

Since swords, nets and forks are no longer allowed, this sport has never been the same.

One word...

Speed Kills...

Hatton had the heart of a lion but Mayweather's fought much better comp and as you saw, was just to fast for the brave Britton. Crowd got UGLY, but Hatton and his camp were pretty gentlemanly. At least it wasn't as bad as Hagler vs. Minter... that was litteraly a RIOT.;

Philistine!!!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif There's one word for ya. It was a good fight one I'd pay to see again, but this time do it on your side of the pond. Just make sure there's enough Army lads around to keep order.
