I would like to officially apologize for flooding the ubi forums with 4 recruitment threads to any ubi forum member who did not like it. I also would like to apologize for ruthlessly taking part in the small 8th-34th skirmishes. That is all, sorry
I am also aware that this thread in itself is Spam so I apologize for it ahead of time just thought it should be done

eh, its a gaming forum and i have no problem with someone posting a recruitment thread.. so long as we stay civil and don't take things personal http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Good of you to stand up, but no apology required. If people don't like recruitment threads, they don't have to read them

Well, I can't speak for anyone else, but I quite enjoy turning my pc on each morning and reading all the new threads, regardless of what the content is (within reason)

I must say I have followed your desparate battle to get people interested.
Well perhaps you`ll get lucky in a future.
Maybe you should just stick to one thread and bump it from time to time. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif
However I don`t agree with those belonging to some other flottila who went after you like bees on a honey.

thanks
the problem is those that go after me like bees post up the thread with attacks so i cant bump it up because it has a page of argument on it, know what i mean so i have to start fresh ones.

Fritz, it takes guts to offer a public apology like that, sincere in its wording & tone. More power to you.

I for one found the whole episode quite sour and that is directed at all the parties involved. However I would characterise the threads as a series of ugly spats (for the SH3 forums) but not as spam though.

I agree with the main concensus so far; write up a good "Official 34th Recruitment Thread" and bump it at a reasonable intervals.

Good luck with your Flotilla.

Well Done Fritz for showing maturity and a little bottle in making a public apology - but as far as I can see - none was needed.

All I could see was a few individuals who found your presence and intentions a threat to their world.

But, this is a community dedicated to our favourite game - and not a place for people to attack and offend each other - after all we are fellow comrades, maybe we should all act like comrades!

Perhaps you should concider to add another line to your response WS since you have played your part in this.
Not a glamorous part I must add.

As far as the arguement on the forums go, your apology is accepted and I have one for you. I've spoken with WS in the past about antagonizing Fritz and other 34th Members and their recruitment posts, as excessive as they were. However, me WS and Jager all go back with Fritz, having all come from the same Flotilla and it would be fair to say we know a little more about the situation than some of you http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif Also having said that it would be fair to let those reading, who didn't have a chance to see, know that there was a very derogatory post by Fritz which was quickly deleted after being reported for reasons of vulgarity. Why he wasn't banned, I don't know. Having said that, I don't hold grudges and as Flotilla Kommodore of the 8th, won't be envolved in such childish debates in the future. Just got sick of some of the comments, Fritz, but its all over and done with now. So http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/clap.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/clap.gif

werner has some important points and i thank him for pointing it out. I am officially declaring Peace between 34th and 8th Flotilla. Me and Werner have talked and we agreed on some terms. if any of 34th members or 8th members start this up they will be severly punished. thanks to Werner for the conversation regarding this matter.

And Fritz, good apology

@Fritz
I don't consider recruitment threads spam. In flightsim communities there are usually forums dedicated just for this sort of thing. And I can understand your reason for starting new recruitment threads because of the posts made in the prior ones. (Let me say that I didn't take sides in those "skirmishes" as it didn't concern me.) But I think it is a great thing when someone can make a sincere public apology. Best of luck to you. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

I would say that 4 posts is a little excessive but, come on, no harm was done to anyone!

The problem with crating posts to recruit is that your message soon gets wiped off the first page of the forum.

I think the most practical tactic for you flotilla recruiters is to include an advert in your signature, preferably with a link to the flotilla's website. As long as you post in the forum often enough, your 'advert' will get seen by everyone, old and new.

i think the best way is to host free online matches thats how i got 2 members at the same time . in the game i can explain and answer any questions i prefer online recruiting over forums. i give forum recruiting a try but i dont count on it.

Can't we all just get along? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

Seriously, I think the recruitment in your signature to be the best least obtrusive way of incorporating it into the forums.

Well, that's my 2 cents worth... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/halo.gif
