I was worried that it might be in bad taste to show this little movie during the painful events happening in Japan lately. But it was done only in the interest of movie editing and/or aerial combat that I did. It is a fiction based on a historic event of 66 years ago so I hope I didn't offend anyone or appear to be insensitive to the tragic events that have taken place recently.

I don't think showing this is necessarily in bad taste, in light of recent events. Though devastating, the tsunami and reactor woes are unrelated to the subject of your movie.

The "cinematography" was nice, but I'm not sure about the use of that 20's Jazz piece (the rest of the movie seemed too serious...the light/funny music was a bad juxtaposition to me).

I also don't fully understand why the corsair's engine cut out. I only saw it get a few hits to the wing.

Did you film this online with friends or by yourself and AI? If the latter, then you sure have excellent control of the camera and situation. I don't think I could approach that.

Overall, a good production.

This is what gave me the idea for the music in my video, a classic Sim that I will always love:

The Jazz piece in mine was actually written about twenty years ago. 'Hey Pachuco', from Royal Crown Revue.

I should have shown some damage to the fuel tank and engines on the planes as cause for the engine failures. I figured a viewer would consider any plane being subjected to a hail of bullets could have engine trouble.

I filmed it by myself off-line with AI. The pilots voices are my own! I altered the voice pitch using sound mixing software. IRL I'm somewhere in the middle.

Thanks for the critique. It was the first video I made since I built my new computer, a bare-bone kit from Tiger Direct.
It sure was fun making it.
I think my next one will have a custom home-made sound track. So be prepared for some rock n roll. No matter how hard I try I always irritate somebody with my video's sound tracks. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Not bad, especially since you used AI only. As for the music, I'm not wild about it, but remember, if you try to please everyone, you'll usually please no one. If you're not ****ing off someone, you're not doing a good job. So, good job! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

(They had to censor that? Really? Ohkayyy...)

Good movie http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

As for the music, another choice you might consider is Count Basie's 'One O'clock Jump', or some stuff by Benny Goodman or Tommy Dorsey. The music may be a bit lighthearted for your theme but might be worth a try.

I thought it was pretty good. The bit where the first JPN plane crashed into the bridge was pretty well done. I didn't mind the music, I thought it fit pretty well.

Cool. I like that bridge crash too. It took a long time to get that just right. Actually I was flying the A6M that crashed into the bridge. Then, I would get back into the corsair again.
There's a lot of trickery in how-its-done.

Thanks alot guys, for the thumbs- up and the thumbs not so 'up'. I appreciate the input. I will try to make my little videos as quick fun fast-paced and painless as possible.
Suggestions will be put to use for future flicks. As for music,
If you watch this Jane's WW2 Fighters opening theme you will notice a very strong resemblance.

I think the music goes well with an air combat scene. I was simply anticipating something else (radio broadcast and newspapers set a different mood for me personally). I hope I didn't come across as harsh.

You still get a big thumbs up from me http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Ha ha yeah. Sir, this is not good.

In reference to the battleship segment;
I'm anticipating comments on proper call-for-fire procedures because I know I had to have screwed that up somewhere. I just pulled it outa my arse. Navy or Army guys should have something to say about it.

Oh BTW,

This movie could be offensive to some.
