Iam trying to import my signature from a file in "Documents\My Pictures" and the code wont work. It's a ACDSee JPEG Image 1130 x 824.
46.4 KB (47,542 bytes)

Could one of you please write out what the code should be and I will put in the file details.I've never do this before and I am getting nowhere.

I would appreciate it as I have spent a fruitless morning trying to do this.

You cannot import a picture directly from your computer. The link has to be available 24/7 or else it won't work. What you need to do is to find a hosting site (or make one of your own) and upload the pictures to it. You can then link the pictures to your post.

OK so everyone on the site who has a "made up" sig has had to host a site?
What confuses me is that i used this sig on the SH2 forum and it was on my computer only?

Pic looks good. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

It does look good, and I need to apologize: I should have posted a link to mywebpage at Netscape-the one I use.

Also if you ever want to find out what service anybody uses, right-click on the picture and click "properties". That will give you the link to the host.

BTW, your avatar needs just a little tweaking. Looking at it as it is now, it's 'scrunched up'. Try saving the original pic on your computer and resizing it to 41 x 64 for the proper ratio, then save it where you have your sig pics. Then change your profile to reflect the change of origin of the pic from before to where it is now. It looks a LOT better in the proper ratio.

Also, I'm glad you finally got your sig pics up and running. I watched your sig change bit by bit. I almost asked you to place them side by side, but you finally did it anyway. Looks good. Maybe resize one of the pics so they are both the same height. Just a suggestion.

Thanks hauitsme, actually I was trying to put them side by side, learning HTML code as I went, that's why it took so long. I'll do what you suggest for the avtar, thanks again for the help !

Hi there,

well, U-443 this is really a ver beautiful picture that you have in your signature.

But I dont like that really big one for two reasons:

1. I see this pic 6 times in this Thread now. Thats to much for me.

2. Modem Users are now waiting longer than it has to be... and for what? to see this pic 6 times. At the end, I know at least one person who is connecting with a modem.

So, what you do with this information is your choice. Leave it at it is, or make you pic a little bit less big, or choose another one. I dont care.
I just wantet to give you a thought.

Happy now mate?

What happened to your avatar? Where did it go? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/1072.gif

hauitsme I was trying to resize it. Fixed it in photoshop put it into photobucket at 41x64 but it wont upload, says 64x64 only. Stupid set up!

11-20-2004, 08:28 PM
With Photoshop, it shouldn't be too hard to create a 64x64 background and then paste the 41x64 into the center of the background to create a single pic. This I did in about 3 min. w/Paint. Very crude, but all it takes is a little patience, which I am in need of at this moment.
BTW, now your sub is too small.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v325/hauitsme/preuss_joachim2.jpg

I cant win mate,Voyager532 felt it was too big ? I might resize it again later. BTW Iam new to photoshop etc.. I really dont know how to do these things Iam learning as I go.You know, alot of trial and error.

Postscript : There you go, thanks again hauitsme

Don't worry about it. It'll work out in the end anyway, so no problem. Do what YOU want, not what others want you to.
Go ahead and use the above pic if you want to for now, if not, that's OK too. Just right click on it, choose 'Save picture as ...', save it to your system, upload it to Photobucket, and it should work till you can do better with the original. It kinda bothers me to see 'squished' photos, so I'm doing this for both of us. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

EDIT:You went and updated it while I was writing this, so ignore it. I am.
