hi everyone. i have heard that the next patch is going to be the last one. then i would like to hear some real sound on the engin and the guns.. if you have played cfs you know what i mean... the sound we have now is bad... well its not so importend but it would be fun with some better sound http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Yes, I played CFS, but don't know what you mean (no offense intended).
There is no real engine and guns sound in CFS This was explained long time ago. For instance, speaking from personal experience also, you can hear only one heavy MG (instead of 4, 6 or 8 HMG) with low rate of fire. One of the most important features of plane mounted weapons is high rate of fire.

Even original Il-2 (2001 edition) was able to produce "real" engine and guns sounds, under one condition: that you have top-notch hardware (high quality sound card and large hi-fi sound system).

If I remember correctly, Oleg once said that during game creation, he took some VVS veterans to his home, where he played them simulated engine sounds on his super stereo system, till they said "Yes, that's it!".

The guns sounds in CFS2 were set by the way the gunstations were set up in CFG.

Modding the cfg to assign one station per gun (not grouped as one gun, which was quite often the case) brought a whole new experince.

To hear all the guns going off seperately, with the hitting power of several single guns, was awesome
