inspired by the "New WWII film Tom Cruise + ME109s!" tread i decided to do collekt movie clips with ww2 airplanes in.

first one is from an old movie
called 633 squadron, about mosquito,
rather old style, pretty anoying but they have 3 flying mosquitos so what the hell
for the movie they also had 2 mosquitos that could taxi but not fly
366 squadron (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8ARxDGtoPU)

the next one is from the exellent movie: Harts war
notice the better special effekts,

P51 and Bf109 dogfight over a Pow camp
Notice Bruce Willis.
Harts war (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pPN4m10BysI)

heres the classic D-day scene from the tv series Band of brothers
Band of Brothers D-day (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YaEezr48xiQ)

Battle of Britain, spitfire against Stukas,
Battle of britain (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RVBO61qg-kc)

and then we have to have the completly ridiculus dogfight between to A6M zeros and...you guessed,
two F14 Tomcats. now that what i call fair
but none the less the zeros manege to get a shot in

its from the movie called: Final countdown

Speaking of this, does anyone know what the German fighters in The Last Crusade actually are? I know the little biplane is a trainer (Jungmeister or somesuch), but I can't quite figure out what the fighters are.
For some reason I want to say they look sort of like Mc202s, but I don't really know for certain.

That movie is an old favorite of mine, nice mix of two of my favorite things: WWII and Sci Fi. That dogfight is so lopsided it's hilarious.

"Laddie son of Lassie" Blenheims and P40's
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sTYLFzlPUgo

"Captain of the Clouds" Fairay Battles, Harvards
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PSIGgHVlGZw

"They Who Dare" Savoia-Marchetti SM79
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZXnL7Ec2F8

"A Bridge to Far" C47, Horsa, Harvards, Spitfire
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KHOMdCKZyLk

"Murphys War" grumman Duck
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eB0bUaUIl_Q

"Dambusters" Lancasters

"Memphis Belle" B17's

"Dark Blue World" Spitfires, He111's, B25
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yyZHwF8YzT8

"Catch 22" B25's, L4
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PoU1R4BeS0

"Red Beret" Vickers Wellintons

"Tora Tora Tora"

"Pearl Harbour"

the list goes on...

But personnaly i would like to see the story of a composite Luftwaffe pilot's career from Gliders to Trainers, Bf109, Fw190, Me262 all the aircraft exist flying today.

That would be good film if the CGI took more of a back seat and was done by someone who understands how things fly.

Not trying to be a NAG-BAG..
I'd really like any clips to be downloadable and not on EEEUGGGGHHHHHH .. youtube. I just close the thread when I see youtube links. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif

This might be a potential market for someone. Share your vids for free http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I always enjoyed "A guy named Joe" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0035959/). Setting a side the classic story (the ghosts of dead pilots are assigned "guardian angel duty" to help watch over young fighter pilots) their is a lot of good P-38 footage (real and studio effects). I believe their is also some B-25 and Vultee footage. See the trailer here. (http://www.videodetective.com/titledetails.aspx?PublishedID=326)

Another movie that has to be mentioned is "12 O'Clock high" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0041996/). All though a drama focusing on the "human element" of daylight bombing and the heavy emotional toll it took on the officers, pilots and crew members...this movie also contains a lot of good B-17 footage (an amazing stunt shot of a B-17 crash landing). This movie also highlights some actual combat footage of B-17 gunners fighting off an actual German fighter attack (I remember seeing some ME109's). It is said the George Lucas used the combat scene in this movie as a template for the Millinium Falcon vs. Tie fighter scene in "Star Wars"...

Empire of the Sun Kamikaze ceremony and P-51 attack. Very powerful scene. Perhaps the best I've seen in any movie.

Agreed, one of the very best aircraft related scenes I've ever seen in regards to emotion. I actually had tears in my eyes seeing that one again.

Just watched 'Cross of Iron', directed by Sam Peckinpah, starring James Coburn. It's set on the Eastern front from the German point of view. At one point, they are attacked in their trenches from the air by USMC Corsairs http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

Their is a Russian movie called "Torpedo Bombers" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0262052/) that is quite good. Their are a lot Russian airplanes in the movie...I don't remember which ones but I think that their are IL4's in their(I also remember a flying boat of some type).

I remember another 1980's(?) Russian war movie that had a lot of P-39's in it...can't remember the name (sorry) right now. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

I also just love "Hroniki pikiruyushego bombardirovshika" and "V boi idut odni stariki"

Other films from Russia I would recomend are
"Normandia Neman"
"Vozdushnii izvozchik"
"Povest o nastoyashem cheloveke"

Download it from the Internet Archive!
Memphis Belle (http://www.archive.org/details/MemphisBelle)

There's also "Combat America", which was a movie made during WWII (briefly) featuring Clark Gable. [The movie] "Follows the Flying Fortress crews of the 351st Bombardment Group from the end of their training at a Colorado training field to actual combat over Germany."

This was one of the first movies (and probably the last) in wich a landing Tomcat doesn't suddenly changed into a Phantom, a firing Tomcat changed into a Starfighter, or even changed loadout mid-flight. In fact, most of the flyingpart in this movie is oké. Besides that, the storyline has inspired my quite a few times.

Sorry it`s not WWII but one of my favourite war movies

The Hunters (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EKExLhUrGWc)

Two minor pains f-84s as Migs the other is at one point an F-86 whilst crashing turns into an F-100 http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif
maybe a bit of CGI wouldn`t go amiss just to correct these areas?
