I ordered a new AT Radeon 9800 Pro...
From NewEgg.com on Sunday. Aug. 222nd. I ordered the MSI version:

http://www.msicomputer.com/product/p_list.asp?class=vga&cpu=2

It was $212.00 shipped. I paid for FedEX Express Saver delivery. I live in California and paid California Taxes on it. They apparently have a warehpouse in New jersey and are shipping it from New Jersey.

By the way:

Fry's Outpost.com has a sale on Radeon 9800 pro Video cards:

Through NewEgg.com was about $212.00 shipped..

Just thought I would pass this on..

=================

The odd shipping story....
The slated Delivery date is on August 26th, before 4:30 am, here in California.
=====
The Radeon Card I ordered was listed on the FedEx web site as being in New Jersey and at the warehouse for 3 days... I was getting worried they were playinmg a game..I finnally emailed NewEgg.com and voiced my concern that they were just moving the video card around FedEX warehouse... After I emailed them, they moved the status from:

New status after my email asking what is this FedEx Time Warp??

After Emailing NewEgg.com with my concern about it still being in New Jersey for 3 days... the FedEX tracking miraculously says:
'Left New Jersey Sorting Facility'

Coinicidence???

I have used NewEgg.com before, but tback then they only shipped from Callifornia...

There are a few of us, in forums, asking about why we are paying Califrnia taxes when they are shipping from New Jersey!! Other that al this funny busines I have been happy with NewEgg.com..

Your thoughts?

at lreast now I can play games on this computer like they were meant to be played and enjoyed..

Vid cards confuse me. I'm old.
I've looked at the detailed descriptions of BOTH cards you mentioned and other than the price, what is the difference?

Not trying be a smart A$$ but i really would like to know.

Thanks,

Kind of screwy, Newegg.com is a good company from what I have heard. I just bought some things from zipzoomfly.com and was very pleased with the speed on the delivery, I think they are in CA. Hopefully you will get it soon and have killer graphics.

Congrats on your new vid card, I'm sure you'll love it. I'm from PA and I've had a package shipped from Newegg out of NJ to ALASKA and back to PA. Don't be surprised by weird shipping...

There are some Radeon 9800 pro that have the 9800XT cores, which are the R360. MSI gives the card the 9800XT core. Also, MSI adds an excellent Heatsink/Fan. I consider this a notch above other brands.

Here is a review of interest for you and others:

http://www.overclockers.co.nz/ocnz/review.php?id=04vga00r9800promsi00000r9800pro0105

When I read this and al the other reviews (see the revies and feedback on the MSI RX9800Pro on www.newegg.com (http://www.newegg.com)
and you wil see how well this card is doing and rave reviews with the features...
(Note: the software pack is ok, but the games included are a bit older, and I really don't care for the games it comes with... But hey the card by itelf alone is worth the cost, and the cost is still equal or less than other card without the XT core and the Extremely nice heatsink..

When I got my new 9800 Pro three months ago, I told my sweetie how much it cost and she gasped. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

...actually, I told her the price, without taxes, and taking off the $100 my buddy gave me for my old GF4-4200. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

She still gasped.

But I love my new card.
