I wonder if we can get the A6M3 Type 22 (currently we have the Type 32), this version had folding wings (12 meters wingspan) and can give us a 1942 carrier version Zero. It also had more fuel and aileron trim.

The other is the A6M3a wich was like the previous one but with long barrerl 20mm cannon.

AFAIK all carrier battles of 1942 were fought with Model 21s on the japanese side.
and the Model 22 is more a 1943 model, production began November 1942.

but anyway, a Model 22 would be a blast !
almost as fast as the Mode 32 and almost the turn of a Model 21 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

its a long time wish for the game, it will not happen http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

btw, late Model22 did introduce ruddertrimm, not aileron trimm AFAIK.

Seems like there would need to be a lot of mods to the existing model in game to get it in. It doesn't seem like 1C is interested in doing those kind of mods at this point.

it depends, actually it would be the A6M3 fuselage with the wings of the A6M2-21.......
in the 3D model part.
sure, it would than also need FM tweaking.

Good question Flak.
I would like to know why they have decided to cut this Zero, really a strange decision.....we have model 32 but not the 22.... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/disagree.gif.

As said above we can forget it, as for the others....UFO jets are the future.... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

Yes, indeed I thought it was to be added later.

Regarding the differences on the Type 32 with the Type 22 on performance the last is slower than the Type 32 by 4 kph (but faster than the Type 21 by 7 kph), one of the reason the IJN didnt liked the Type 32 was the reduced range unlike what happen with the Type 22 wich was the most long range version of all Zero.

The designation Type 22 mean that the first 2 is that the airframe was changed twice, and the engine also twice (The Type 21 show that the engine was never changed but yes the airframe) and the Type 32 the airframe was changed 3 times.

So on the 3D model, exchanging the cowling-propeller mounting of the Type 21 with the one of the Type 22 will be enough, along changes on the textures for trims or things like that. On the cockpit, I will like a light blue interior if posible http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.
