Was just setting up my keys/joystick and wondered, apart from your guns http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif, what are your 4 most used commands/ as in what do you most often micro-manage while flying, oh and what do you have on your slider, I have throttle, but think I might change that to something more useful.

after take off:

A (auto pilot)then ] (time compression) until X8 compression.

F2 (outside external full view) then P (pause)to take pretty pictures

Then in combat it is communications, all offline players will recognize this...
Tab, 1, 2 or 3, then 1, then 1,2 or 3 then 1...whatever is most appropriate.(which basically means cover me while I go in for the kill)

and of course guns, guns, guns....

I most commonly use these four keys:

Flaps Down
Flaps Up
Center View

Sliders are set to throttle, and elevator trim.

Flaps up & down. I constantly use flaps off and on to pull lead in high speed deflection shots or if I need to pull just a little more on my opponent who went hard vertical.

Other than that I have buttoms mapped to "normal", "wide", and "gunsight" views. I switch these quite often depending on what is needed.

I have two mapped to elevator trim positive & negative, and one to map as well.

Flaps up, flaps down, cowl flaps and WEP.

Ctrl+B , "B" for Bail

I remapped the Default Ctrl+E to Ctrl+B ... Ctrl+E is for LOMAC

Map, Zoom/Normal/Wide views, centre view, flaps & gear.

TrackIR=no buttons at all http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I use incremental zoom - map - prop-pitch - rad most, probably, and my flaps are on my left pedal.

Mind you, cockpit-canopy is getting a lot of action atm...rumble, whoosh, clunk! I love it http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Combat flaps, Trim, Radiater, Throttle (on a separate joystick slider....)

11-03-2004, 05:49 AM

zoom in/out view in cockpit (I have this fixed so that it's not the close up gunsight view, but something inbetween)
flaps up/down

oh, but then there's supercharger 1 or 2 and mixture (one key to lean, the other to make rich)

In order

1) bail out
2) Anyone, help me!
3) wingman: break! (aka: stop stealing my kill you b@stard)
4) Control tower: send help

Toggle FOV (Field of View)
Rudder Trim Left or Right (Allied a/c)
+ Elevator Trim Up or Down (all a/c)

11-03-2004, 12:07 PM
Mousewheel for elevation trim.

Hat for, Pitch up & down + Flaps up & down

opps that 5

11-03-2004, 12:42 PM

bail out.

11-03-2004, 12:42 PM
Elevator trim on X-45 rotary
Mouse emulator on throttle
Flaps down (fire D)/up (hat two straight down)
Toggle FOV (up and down on 8 way hat for index finger on throttle)

Edit: good grief, can you tell I'm left handed?

shift+E = Eject
tab > 7 = AI command "Anyone help me!!"
tab > 8 > 1 = Contol tower send fighters here quickly
backspace > 2 > 1 (all chat) = ~Salute~!! Good Kill, I didn't even know you were there.

OOOOHHhhhhhh....you meant as in controls for the plane http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

(lol, just noticed someone who I must wing a lot above) http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

1)Fire all guns
2)Fire all guns
3)Fire all guns
4)Fire all guns
What a heck!Is a game where we suppose to kill the bad guy.

11-03-2004, 01:47 PM
But you must fly to him first, and look for him! Unless you fly with all colours flying. (I.e. icons, no c0ckpit, ect)

I have

Fire Guns
Fire Cannon
Center View
Narrow FOV incremental.

Those are probably the most used commands.

And I have a CHPro yoke, with 3 sliders, which I use for throttle, pitch, and wheel brakes. Flap on a slider is an exploit IMO, because you can get continous control of flaps in aircraft like the Spitfire which didn't have that capability IRL.

1. Hat switch for looking around
2. Padlock
3. Flaps on rotary (x-45, works great since PF)
4. HUD view
