Check this out. Some great views of a Yak-15 being serviced with panels being removed, also in aerobatics above Moscow. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif
Maybe somebody can translate what is being said.

Aussom.

Just wondering: In the sim, can you see the radio antenna from the cockpit?

Short Answer....NOPE.
Antenna wires you can see come from the tail and they stop where the Antenna should be.

Wow. It seems like you should be able to see it from the pilot's position. Is there no antenna on the model?

Thanks!

wow, that was great. I watched the Yak-23 video to, of the USAF testing one. Never even heard of it before, but it was obviously developed from the 15.

Cool Vid.
Is it me or did the first pilot look a little like Lee Majors?

Its not you. 6 million Ruble man. I think alot of pilots look like "lee majors" when in helmet. I'd guess that's why they hired him for the series. Somebody here has a SiG with a "lee majors" pilot sitting in a opened Stuka pit, looking back at the camera, hand on wheel.

Wow thats awesome. Thanks for sharing that! Not often we get to see videos of obscure aircraft like that one.

Really followed after Yak-17. But if you mean similar layout looks, then P-51 was developed from Fw-190, which was developed from P-51. Both NAA and FW built the same basic design layouts.

oops ... edit... Instead of the Merlined P-51, the P-47 would have been a better copy of Fw-190, which would have been a better copy of P-47.

I have a picture of a pilot who looks like Oleg sitting in a Wright Flyer. Funny thing is the pilot IS Russian!

Isn't this footage from the red Stars series? I have the whole thing on DVD somewhere but I can't find it readily. (EDIT) Red Stars episode 11 last 5 minutes.)

Concerning the Yak-23 , I was fortunate enough to see one in an aviation museum near Bucharest airport in Romania. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif
There were many interesting types there, including IL-28 ,
Mig-15/17/19 , La-9 and a Iar-80 reproduction. I was so excited at discovering this place!
I took some photos too that I'll probably scan later on. Unfortunately I ran out of film way to early! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif
