I did a quicky which is supposed to resemble Iraqi AF Mirages F1 in an action during desert storm.

Nice picture, but surely "I ran to Iran" would be a better title, especially if said fast with an American accent?

How long is a 'quicky'? You display an obvious talent, perhaps you could jot down a quick Whirlwind for me?

It depends. (how predictable answer http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif) If I know plane reasonably well and/or if I have a plastic model of it (to familiarize with it's 3D shape), than it can be somewhere around two hours (that's the time I needed for mirages)

Well, despite being utterly unfamilirized with the type (I'm a sinner, I know), I tried a "quickie". Since it is quite hard to get the 3D 'feeling' about the plane from 2D pictures (my only source), I picked a perspective where I couldn't miss much http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif (circa 2 hours, charcoal and pencil on a standard A4 size paper):

Wow, I like that one a lot more than the F1:s!

Could have to do with the planes, but it has a lot more motion in it, and I like the stylized look better! I guess I like more contrast in charcoal sketches too.

Yes, and there is also the scanner interface... seeing it on paper in front of you is something completely different than a low res scan.

You sure you are a physicist? Guess you'd stand a chance to make a living as an artist as well.

Do you happen to have a plastic model kit of a Kongo class battlecruiser? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Looks like Seafire has some competition on his hands.

Excellent artwork, but why aren't they depicted going down in flames? If they were 'in action' then they were moments from being destroyed.

Ohh..nevermind. They must be escaping from Iraq to Iran, I forgot that 'strategic' maneuver.

And speaking of low flying Mirages, anyone seen that French movie "Sky Fighters", or "Chevalets du Ciel" (pardon my French!) by Luc Besson?

Thank you all for kind remarks. One thing I noticed however is, that contrast is reduced considerably by a scan...
