There is a new interview in bombs in ACR. And at 2:05 Poiker (think its his name) mentions that Constantinople is the main city but there are other cities that are large enough for free-roam in them. They are Cappadocia, Masyaf and the gamescom demo village. Great News. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

the only one I ever doubted, and keep doubting is that the Altair sequences will be free roaming. I kind of want to see a side mission or something from ACR though. Still, this is awesome.

Where did they say that Alta´r will be able to buy armor?

Thanks for posting the interview, KrYpToNiC95. We were having this discussion in another thread about Cappadocia, and it really felt like the village from the gamescom demo would be free-roam because it has boarded-up shops that looked like they might open after Ezio kills Leandros. One of the shops has a visible tailor icon on a sign above it, which led me to a new thought. You know how the first concept art and screenshots of Ezio showed him with a Masyaf logo on the front of his robes? In the E3 demo and just about everything else since then, Ezio's robes have the Assassin logo on the front. I believe there is one interview (that would be hard to find now) where Alex Amancio said you would able to customize the look of his robes. So it seems likely that you'll be able to change the logo on the robes by going to tailors and buying them (and hopefully colors like before). It would make sense that you can only get the Masyaf logo at the tailor in the village near Masyaf, and custom Constantinople logos at tailors there. That would be a cool little addition to the customization.

Cool. I get the feeling that ACR is going to be quite similar to Halo 2 in the sense that you get to alternate between 2 different characters.

So I just rewatched that, and Gabe mentions removing armor from Ezio or Alta´r. He never specifically says that Alta´r can buy armor, only that removing it could screw up the stats of Ezio or Alta´r. I have a feeling that Alta´r's armor will automatically upgrade with each new memory you play that's later in his life. I really don't see them making his sequences free roam with the same economic system. I do hope that Alta´r's sequences provide some level of exploration though, where you can roam around and explore a little before hitting certain checkpoints in the memory. I am still annoyed that in most of the Christina missions in Brotherhood, they put restrictions on you that don't even allow you to explore the upgraded graphics in Florence. I think it's only in the Last Rites memory that I was able to go explore on my own and ignore a checkpoint. The first one had a tail requirement, and the last one forces you to catch up to Christina in like 25 seconds and then ends once you do.

I think if you cant buy, he wouldnt have put Ezio and Altair in the same category, the Question didnt even involve Altair, he/she only asked about Ezio, why would gabe mention Altair ? because he can buy Armor.
and about Florence, its actually the same AC II Model not the ACB Model.

The question was "Can you remove armor?", so Gabe was just talking about armor in general. He could have talked about Alta´r because in his later memories you'll see him with armor as well, and people may want to remove that too. It sounds like confirmation that Alta´r will have armor of some type either way.

Florence in ACB was the same model but it looked a lot better in ACB's updated engine. If you climb Giotto's Campanile or the Duomo you can see a big difference in how far away buildings look. They were incredibly hazy and blurry in AC2, but look nice and clear in ACB, like Rome in the distance.

The difference is in the lighting they used - 1 is day and is purposefully hazey looking(zoom in and you basically see the same detail level but the lighting effect plays with what you see). I will say that the Cristina missions did look a bit better though but maybe that was just lighting/shading as well.

Ah, if you look closely you see that the textures on the buildings in AC2 are not as detailed as in ACB. But regardless, I'll turn AC2 on and get a screen front Florence in the night time. I might have to wait for a while though.

I'll be back soon with a pic.

Actually, it's also less detailed from a distance than in ACB. Not by much, but it's noticeable. And ACB in the mornings and days don't have the same effect.

If you watch the GamesCom trailer, you can see what looks like lifts, beams and a hanging pot up high on the Masyaf castle, so at least it looks like we'll be able to climb up the castle. It would be nice to be able to explore some more inside the castle, such as some rooms in the tower like the Castel Santangelo. Another weird thing from the GamesCom trailer is at the beginning when you see Alta´r about to do a leap of faith from the castle, in the mountains across the valley in front of him you can see what looks like more buildings in the same architectural style as the Masyaf castle. Those were not there in the first game, so maybe the castle was expanded during Alta´r's time. I don't remember seeing it mentioned at all in The Secret Crusade, but that doesn't mean anything.

The Game Informer article said that the village at Masyaf had "crumbled". Renovating that village sounds like an interesting idea and a possibility. Though I wonder if Ezio will be interested in renovating it when Alta´r purposefully mostly abandoned it before the Mongols conquered it.

</div></BLOCKQUOTE>

I think he meant that Alta´r had moved the order away.

Yeah, I meant that Alta´r sent out most of the Assassins to live amongst the people and that he was in the process of dissolving Masyaf as the headquarters of the Order before the Mongols arrived.

I think you should get ACR, and this is no biased opinion. Uncharted 2 was just a copy of Uncharted. I don't like clone sequels and Assassin's Creed makes sure to give you something new and fun with each game that has come out.
