Dear Oleg,

for our project http://www.vow-hq.com/ we currently work on a list which represents the distribution of fighter & bomber types within Luftwaffe & VVS.

One problem we meet while preparing that list are the diferent Yak-types and their representation in FB. Can you please help us with by clearifying the following question:

Which Yak-type from the game represents which historical Yak's?
FB-Yak1 = ... ?
FB-Yak7B = ... ?
FB-Yak9-1942 = ... ?
FB-Yak9T = ...?
FBYak9K = ...?
FBYak9U = ...?
FBYak93 = ...?

We really need that for a historical acurate online war! And only your answer will be sufficient, because you made this sim /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

All Yaks represent historical things in FB.
We just "missed" some subtypes of Yak-1 and Yak-7, as well as couple of Yak-9s

We present the most mass production series, except Yak-9K that was build 45 serial units for the front needs.
Simply Yak-9K was easy to make from Yak-9T.
Statistic show on the front with such cannon stopped the production of this plane and replaced by modern Yak-9U with different weapon.

Yak-7 1941 date is correct. On the frot it became in use in the begininig of 1942

yogy, ask Ian Boys for he prepared the exact table for plane distribution for years and different theaters of operations for FB´s dynamic campaign. Or send me e-mail at vanovcan_at_kurita_dot_sk, i think i have that table also.

-------------

"The picture repeats itself when operations, which began with great intent and local successes, degenerated into senseless, wild hammering at fixed front-line positions once they encounter initial heavy losses and unforeseen situations. This incomprehensible phenomenon appears again and again. But, even in extremis, the Russian is never logical; he falls back on his natural instinct, and the nature of the Russian is to use mass, steamroller tactics, and adherence to given objectives without regard to changing situations."

Oleg,

Would it be possible to do the similar modification and have Yak-9UT made out of Yak-9U? With both NS-23 and N-37 motor-cannons and two B-20 synchronized cannons?

Almost 300 of them were produced before the war ended and took part in fighting over Berlin. It would be great addition to the game along with Ta-152.

Could you, please, also make Yak-9B out of Yak-9?
