Ah yes, the HE-666..
Developed and produced in 1946 by some guy who never got word that the war ended..

Intended as a fighter/bomber/escort/ground attack/recon aircraft.

Could be fitted with early versions of JATO bottles for vertical takeoff.

Wings could be filled with hydrogen to provide extra lift for getting heavy bombloads off the ground.

Fitted with 2x80mm cannon (salvaged from tanks) that could be used against..Well, damn near anything.

Only known prototype was destroyed during flight testing, as an unfortunate result of the "retract landing gear" switch being located perilously close to the "Jettisson wings" button.

Wow.. hard to believe they put it in the sim..

Later,
Ak

I see Superluminal has some competition http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

"As weaponry, both were good, but in far different ways from each other. In a nutshell, I describe it this way: if the FW 190 was a sabre, the 109 was a florett, or foil, like that used in the precision art of fencing." - Günther Rall

I think that Gigant variant could´ve made an impact on teh war. At least it would´ve been a real blow for the allies. Just imagine seeing that lumbering behemoth over the horizon flying towards you. Because of its speed you´d have about an hour to run away but you still couldn´t clear the blast radius. Somebody dig up those "Duck and Cover" -videos and quick.
