You need the all in one DVD (called "IL2-1946") which is the topic of This thread (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/23110283/m/6301023115/p/1)

I'm in the states and got it at gogamer.com, but I see they are out of stock at the moment.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Yes, I just noticed that the download is available. See the General Discussion forum here... General Discussion (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/ubb.x?a=frm&s=400102&f=23110283)

The second sticky thread explains the download. Frankly, it looks a little convoluted to me.

What version do you currently have?<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Your best bet is to find the DVD. I can't even imagine digging up all the releases between IL-2 and the latest.

"IL-2 1946" contains every plane and map released to date. You can fly Pacific theater, East Front... whatever.

I think most folks at HyperLobby are flying the latest (4.07). There are a few still running 4.05 servers. You might find a Pacific Fighters server or coop at UBI, but I haven't been there in ages so, I can't say for sure.

Check around on the net for the DVD. I know it's available in stores in europe. Maybe someone there can ship to you.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Ok well heres the dealio, I was checking around for IL2: 1946 and theres was issues everywhere with ordering it, i went in the general discussion and checked out what most people said, and all the work didn't seem worth it, so Pacific Fighters is looking more and more appealing to me, but i don't want to buy it if no one palys it online...so the question is: is there anyone out there who still play PF online?

We play'm all. Forgotten Battles, ACE Expansion pack, Pacific Fighters, Pe-2 Add on, Sturmoviks over Manchuria, and lastly VVS 1946. As mentioned you can get them all on one DVD which is your best bet.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Get the 1946 DVD seriously, unless you wanna get confused by patching and the foreseeable lack of servers for older versions of the IL2 series. Gogamer.com is your best bet; just wait 'til they're stocked.

I can sympathize with your angst in wanting it now, but it being out of stock. However, it's financially prudent to wait out the backorder status to get the new DVD. You might get PF standalone now at whatever the cost, but you will find yourself wanting the other elements soon (PF is somewhat "unfinished" by itself). PF is included and merged with all the elements of IL2 on the new " '46" DVD, so you'd essentially find yourself paying for PF a second time. I also believe you're likly to get frustrated noting that there are extremely few that still utilize the PF standalone versions online.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Google Hyperlobby and download\install the program. If there are any PF stand alone servers, you will find them there.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Last time I checked there were still a few servers running in the PF Standalone room at Hyperlobby but I don't think any of them are 24/7 servers so you might find at times there are no servers active in the room. As I type this there are currently 6 servers listed. 4 are occupied by only the server, the remaining two have 4 and 2 players respectively. There is one player waiting in the lobby and not in a game.

In the Forgotten Battles room (for FB and all later merged versions up to an including IL2 1946) there are currently about 90 servers, 238 players in missions and 63 waiting for missions.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Certainly not to sound rude.....but I've heard of very very very few problems ordering IL2'46 online. Nor do I understand what you mean when you say the work wasn't worth it.

I only say this because from my point of view almost unanimously IL2'46 is a huge sucess, and I don't want you to miss out on the great experience.

A few said their order took longer than expected. Ordering IL2'46 is the best way to get the whole series and have be the most compatible online.

PF as a stand alone game is pretty weak. There areonly a few sigle missions. The campaigns are okay...meh.

There's another company t order from if GoGamer is out of stock.(I think they are called NSW. Shouldn't be to hard to verify on th forums)

Just get the IL2'46. It'll be INFINITELY harder trying to find "IL2 Forgotten Battes" and "Ace Expansion Pack" then 'Pacific Fighters' and their appropriate patches. Then have to download three more expansion packs to get up to date.
