Anybody here use the pedals from Microsoft Racing Wheel? I once saw somebody post they used these over the FB. I am thinking of getting pedals and they say these are stiff, large movement, and rugged with no pots. I saw some for cheap. Probably throw the dumb wheel away unless it can move back and forth like bomber wheel.

Thanks.

I have one of those micro$oft wheels in the attic but I not sure if it works in FB. The pedals are very stiff. But Iam lazy so I will wait for someone to enlighten me on whether it works or not. No hurry. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/59.gif

Thanks guys. What's a pt?

Hey, maybe the wheel can be used for trim, kinda large though, but turn the wheel sideways. But it would be Awsum if I could map I~16 manual landing gear to it, and the upcoming FP Wildcat landing gear. USA simmers get to crank their landing gear just like VVS lol hehe

Thanks p1ing

Thanks fellas, may give them a try tommorrow. Don't mind the independent push. Stiff sounds good for me. I was in the store and pushed them and they seemed to travel a good ways. Not sure about the difference in pedals though, I guess I could get used to it. The box I saw was like 60$ so it was affordable.

Okay I got them today. Not Microsoft but...lemme check lol...Logitech Formulae GP Racing Wheel for 40$--the Force Feed wheel was 60$ but since I am tossing the Wheel under the desk I got the 40$. I still need the Wheel to connect pedals to computer. Lost my Joystick temporarily cos it became number 2 or something so I had to manually set joystick settings in FB "conf" file.

Awsum difference for only 40$. Suddenly I can stay lined up on ground targets and drill them perfect with me guns. If you only have 40$ to spend this is the way to go. Pedals are great. Stiff enough and with good travel but kinda close together. Both racing pedals look different but have identical stiffness, travel, and feel. Still would rather have Microsoft Racing pedals they are built very well with good stiffness and great travel. Thanks everybody. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Abit of a huge learning curve but i bought the x 45 and the logitech steering wheel and pedals http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=43352
Still getting used to them,as i say a huge change from a twist stick and new joystick settings but it seems more natural with pedals, ive had them just about a week but already like them alot http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I feel like a dork buying a racing wheel lol. I wish these idiot "flight sim" rudder pedal makers would just make something like this but with larger and wider spaced pedals. Without the dork wheel, they could sell it for 15$ and you will see the Eternal Death of twisty stix. There must be a reason few flight simmers own rudder pedals. ($http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/crazy.gif$) If not for this I would still be using mouse buttons for my rudder and it DON'T WORK or would be still agonizing considering a twisty stix but I can't because I yabsolutely love my non~twist stik (I almost went twisty until I thought of racing peds). It tells you something about the expense of "flight sim" rudder pedals that people must consider racing pedals. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/52.gif

I also feel Cheated in that I still need my wheel to connect my pedals but I was reading the other thread that Saitek makes you need their (equally large lol) X45 stick to connect X45 throttle for those who just want throttle. The Saitek non~Force Feed wheel is small and not too intrusive. Stand it on its wheel under desk and its not so bad.

http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif Lexx, you answered your own question,if they introduced cheap pedals it would do away with the twisty stick, not a good business ploy i assume, for them anyway.
How do you like the pedals and x 45?

Pedals are working well so far. I don't have X~45 stick, I am using a cheap 15$ Saitek Grapite (or something) from WalMarts...its a HUGE joystick with extremely large buttons, throttle, base, and stick travel--top of stick moves about 6 inches from full back to full forward and from side to side! (I am measuring it now with ruler). Much greater travel than other joysticks especially those twisty stix. Only three buttons but they are HUGE and perfectly placed and I mean Perfect. When I go into CompUSA and try other more expensive sticks I can't deal with them I am so spoiled by my 15$ stick. I love it and actually spent 20$ for a backup stick (the first time was on discount) and I may get another--looks like I will be using this type of stick for years to come (its USB and comes with no software lol). Hatswitch works smooth as silk too.

Only three buttons hurts but...http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/icon_twisted.gif...real World War 2 cockpits forced pilots to reach down into instrument panel to throw switches and turn knobs--the better pilots learned to do this without looking. Here the keyboard is more immersive than X~45 which is more HOTAS...but realize HOTAS is not a gaming term it was originally a military idea after World War 2 to keep real life pilots from having to reach down into cockpit.

For LOMAC or a Space Combat Sim the X~45 would be realistic.
