Just wondering. Is the guy facing the rear in this plane a rear gunner. If so he never shoots.

No, he is there to keep the pilot from falling asleep on long missions.
If the pilot starts to nod off, the rear guy shouts "What the hell are you doing?!?!"

This is true http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif. But in the model in PF he is also radio operator and observer. In later models the .303 Vickers K machine gun was installed (Australian built version had .50 calibers)

This is the third thread about the "gunner" in the Beau...check the original at ORR,

here's the link:

Please post there, and keep it high in ORR so Oleg or Dev team will see it and perhaps, hopefully comment

Ok ok ok, gunner or no gunner it doesnt matter.

I think its a bit sad that you couldnt switch to a "gunner position" to the observer anyway because the guy just sits there silently and smiling while a zero creeps up behind... and yes the rearview is lousy in the beafighter.

I guess its too much work making a 3d cockpit model of that observer.
Its a fun plane so lets not whine too much.

Petter, your sig is 800 pixels wide.... some people still use 800x600 desktops..... maybe cutting it down to 500 pixels would be a good thing http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

His job is to count the incoming bullets to see shots fired to hits made. They count the bullet holes on landing and compare with his incoming tally to equate the gunnery skills of the opposition, assuming of course they make it back to base.He was eventually replaced with an AMD64 with the latest video card and a copy of Pacific Fighters.
