Well, I tried to vote and got this message:

"Due to regular maintenace work, the New7Wonders website is temporarily unreachable. Please try it again later."

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gifhttp://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gifhttp://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gifhttp://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gifhttp://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gifhttp://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gif

How brilliant is that.

Edit:

O.K. I did manage to vote now.
My choice was Easter Island Statues, Angkor, Chichen Itza, Machu Picchu, The Grat Wall, Stonehenge....and nothing more, but since you have to select all seven I reluctantly added Coloseum.
Reluctantly because if Coloseum is in, so should be Taj Mahal, Hagia Sofia, Acropolis and Petra.

I couldn't get on there either. Do all these Wonders have to be man-made? I'm assuming that would be the reason that Niagara Falls isn't there (or Angel Falls, for that matter). Or all those fiddly bits along the coast of Norway.

Which reminds me of my last patrol - April 1940 - I'm lurking off the Norwegian Coast, near Narvik and then other places, and some amazing task groups have whizzed by me outside my torpedo range. I didn't get near! I'm wondering if I'd waited really close inshore around Trondheim if they'd get near enough to me. It's mainly a troop transport convoy, with big liners - including one that looks like the Queen Elizabeth - and it's April 16th/17th. The other big task group, with carrier and BB, goes to Ofotfjord (the one which leads to Narvik) on 13 April. Using WAC. There are even some damaged ships limping back to Scapa Flow, judging by the intel reports. (by that time I was out of torpedoes and heading home).

Love this game!

Yes, just like the original seven :

- The great pyramid of Giza

- The hanging gardens of Babylon (Earthquake)

- The temple of Artemis at Ephesus (Arson)

- The statue of Zeus at Olympia (Dismanteled by christian rulers to discourage paganism)

- The mausoleum of Maussollos at Halicarnassus (Damaged by an eartquake and eventually disassembled by european crusaders)

- The colossus of Rhodos (Earthquake)

- The lighthouse of Alexandria (Earthquake)

Only the great Pyramid of Giza withstood the test of time. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

The Egyptians always had a love affair with the word Eternity so they designed their architecture accordingly. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I wonder why the leaning tower of Pisa didnt made it into the finals http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

It differs from the others in being a failure. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Okay i have one or two complaints

One, I wasn't included in the preliminary list... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif

Two, Java's Borobudur massive stone temple should be listed in the final list...people should stop looking at Eiffel tower and come instead to central Java at a town called Yogyakarta and see from your own eyes the grand temple of Borobudur...it's so....grand...what we're lacking is of course a grandeur marketing to match.

EDIT: Just pic google Borobudur and you'll see...

I'm not going to be biased with this one but if Stonehenge doesn't make the final cut then I will smell a conspiracy. Considering the work involved to build the thing and at the time makes a simple construction like the Statue of Liberty or the Eiffel Tower pale in comparison.

Stonehenge for me all the way. The stones were allegedly dragged from Wales I once heard. An amazing feat I think, akin to building the Pyramids.

At least there was no Severn Bridge and toll to pay while man handling those stones from Wales http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Ah ok Celeon, you just answered my biggest question about this whole subject. I was wondering why this was being done, and now I understand, 6 of the 7 original ones no longer exist.
