Oleg is probably up to his neck in it by now, because his BOB is sure going to have to be an impressive product.

This WOV - BOB is a spin off the old Rowan's Battle of Britain, which is currently a viable flight sim.

The poop on the WOV - BOB is impressive, that's sure. The sim also still has a good following for die hard BOB fans.

Of course, for Online play it won't compare with Oleg's flight models that's almost a sure bet.

This sim is due out this month, at least that's what they're saying on SimHQ. I wonder if they'll meet their date... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/10.gif

I think we may be getting a turn at some decent flight sims of interest to WW2 buffs in the next few months.

I liked Rowan's BoB mostly because of the strategic aspect of gamepaly which appeals to me. The BDG made tons of modifications which brought the flying portion of the sim a long, long way from the inital release version.Still a lot of bugs remained like the Stukas failing to attack if the player was flying with the mission.

I'm undecided about the release of the WOV version because the German bombers will still not be flyable, except as a gunner, though there is a vague promise that modders will be able to make this addition.
I'm skeptical about this and think the results will be far from satisfactory even if this is true.

I made the decision to wait and see what develops with this one for now.

This month? are you sure? If so then that really is good news but I find it hard to believe if it is out this month why there has not been more coverage on the various sim sites and why not in game movies etc.

hmmm

Depends on the mission builder if I buy this realy, if there is a decent one...

What I like most though is
"Realistic starting procedures via mouse"

WWII Aircraft had a mouse ?

Ok, you're right nearmiss about not being better than the IL-2 series online, but you do realize it is not designed for online only offline campaigns, right?

Never played the original. Sounds great but I'll wait to hear the real reviews. Could be an awesome offline experience. Great theme (BOB) of course.

If it just let's me sneak up to 1 AI plane I'll be real happy!

TactS!

I'm looking forward BOB WOV which is slated for release this April. I will probably buy it on its release because you can't believe most reviews.

I doubt that it will compare favourably with Oleg's BOB but I will definitely give it the benefit of the doubt. Either way it should be fun as the game had some good points which have been greatly enhance by Shockwave and the BDG group

A mission builder? I'm an ULTRA big fan for mission building as everyone probably knows by now.

I wonder about the BOB, whether a mission builder is as important. The reason I say this is because the Battle of Britain was an air battle, and a British defensive one at that.

The campaign builder thing in the Rowan's BOB was pretty adequate for that, and since they'll be using the original source code as the foundaton for this sim. I'd say you'll see a large resemblance to the the ole sim.

Two things-

1) is that a beau? http://www.gmxmedia.net/bob2/screens/large/10.jpg
and how did they park it there http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

2) the website is woefully under-updated for a new release...I had brough this up last week, because at worst WoV will tide me over until Oleg's BoB...but it's ominous to me that there isn't even a working FAQ

Check out the Emil cockpit- it's a wip Alpha!

I really hope they are just sloppy at updating the site
