Hey guys,

I've seen the posts about each patch that Oleg gives us which usually has some rough edges that need fixed. But it's nothing like the letter I found when I cleaned out my home library today http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Here it is:

Hi, Brian.

Our resident 1942 Pacific Air War expert has recommended that you use only the 1.4 patch because the 1.5 patch tends to cause more problems than before. This is the most stable patch that the game can have.

Here is a copy of the 1.4 patch. Also, the Army Torpedo Bomber career will crash after about mission 9 and unfortunately, there are no fixes for this being made or being planned. If you have any other questions, please let us know.

Sincerely,
(guys name left out)

lol, I got a kick out of it, and it reminded me that when they made games back then, they never supported them like Oleg does for so long. We are very lucky to see customer service like this with our FB, AEP, and PF I think. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

So, just remember, it could be worse http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

lol Smidlee, I've done my share of complaining and suggesting fixes for Pacific Fighters.

Just remember this: There is nothing wrong in showing respect to those who are deserving of it. I never said Oleg was perfect, but I do respect the quality of service that he has given to those of us who enjoy his simulations.

Like Joni Mitchell sang once:

"Don't it always seem to go,
That you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone.
They paved paradise and put up a parking lot."

but but but i'm a complaining little freak that considers myself a Big Man Online and as such i'm enlarging my E-pe*is by quoting tonnes of rambling data about how my fav little plane is "porked", and due to the consequence free nature of forums, can say what i like and insult people i wouldnt even dare look sideways at if they were standingin the same room.

therefore, i reserve the right to complain and complain and complain...

You'll see a direct correlation between the ppl who have been here the longest and the ppl who know that Maddox Games gives outstanding support. We've seen it over and over.

What Jack D Ripper said^

"Bad support" is "no support". Support came...oh, about 15 days ago, right? You might not like the content, but to say that isn't supporting the game hovers on the far edge of credibility

Hehe, product support is product support. The scope of PAW is similar to Pacific Fighters. I'm surprised when I look at what the PAW patches did. They didn't fix very much, and they never bothered to fix the Torpedo bomber campaign, ever. I would have imagined that many would have wanted that fix way back then, including me. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Oh well, I just thought it was interesting and decided to share. I remember thinking those 320x240 resolution graphics were the coolest! My Pentium 200 MHz strained to render the ships in the task force while having a total of 16 aircraft in the sky at any one time. What an upgrade from Aces of The Pacific.

lol, good times man, good times http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Not really a comparison even, just a fact of the way things were, and are in regards to sims. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Heck yea, EnGaurde has a point. These forums are a free place to speak your mind whether you like something or hate it. Some of the complaints are valid and actually lead to changes and improvements to the sim. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

engaurge and almighty im sorry but you are wrong.

I have never seen such good support for software, especially given we don't pay subscription fees. I love Oleg, he brings home the bacon!

Point taken CD_Turbo. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

But if you have a complaint and can back up your claim that something is wrong with the sim then it does appear that Oleg and team make an attempt to correct it.

You just can't go about offending people and using rough language to get your point across on these forums, but you can still get your ideas, and points across here without being banned.

By the way, CD_Turbo that is the coolest avatar I've seen yet! lol A spitfire taking on the imperial starfighters is certainly eye catching http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
