What are your moves to shake him off? I usually fly the 109s. I cannot get away using the split 6 cause i am caught low, so what other options do I have, besides the break - uses up too much energy.

Thanks
Shelton

Can't help ya much, cause I'm not too great either. But, if you're in 109, you shouldn't be low. Use it's climbing advantage and get up to 3-5k. Then, just BnZ, and you should be fine.

109: ok, it's quite simple:

CLIMB!!! CLIMB YOUR BUTT OFF AND REACH FOR THE STARS!! Otherwise, you will die.b

You just have to consider 2 things with the type of plane on you six.

a) can i out-dive the plane?

b) can i out-turn the plane?

If not sure hit `ctrl+e

fight him, dont be a runner, it just wastes your time and theirs. They didnt join the server to compete for the Olympics. (neither did you)

In a 109 its possible to gain the advantage w/o running

I do not recommend a loop (especially if you are being chased by a 109 w/ heavy guns), although I perform them entirely too often. They give a good opportunity for your pursuer to get a good deflection shot. hitting the flaps and killing the engine *sometimes works.
For me, diving usually works the best. If you are in a 47 or 190, leave them in your dust. What if your plane is not as fast in a dive as the other? Let the faster plane behind you gain speed so that it is hard to maneuver. Pull up or turn really fast. He may fly right by or black out. Remember, if your enemy is in a blackout, he can't aim at you; if you are in a blackout, so what?
It's so much easier to preach this than to do this in the game.

Couple of things you can do. A lot of it depends on the plane following you though.

Try turn fighting him for a bit but keep gaining alt. Everychance you get go up. Up. It's a bit tricky as you might end up in his sites if you not careful but with the 09's powerplant and light weight you should be able to get above him. Plan here is to stall him out and eat up his e as he goes up with you. Then swoop on him.

Or just out run him. Gentle jinks up, down, side to side to keep yerself out of his sites and extend away. Or if he is at med range behind you. Go into a gentle dive. Close manifold and put the pedal to the floor.

Rolling sciccors works nice too. Practice off line a bit by watching yer ai fights from the outside and you'll get the hang of e states etc, where he is- or should be- without having a vis on him, and on when to chop yer throttle to settle in behind him.

Anyways there is a bunch of stuff besides this. Have fun.

Spiral climb, that is if you have enough speed, just slowly start climbing and turning at the same time in a fairly tight circle, make sure to not climb too fast, but dast enough that your persuer starts to fall behind a bit, if you do it right you should end up above him and actually kind of behind him, then just drop your inside wing, suddenly you're on his 6 making a diving pass.

Keep in mind, this only works if your plane is a better climber (109's quite often are) and you haven't allready blown your E in a turn fight. I find this has helped me a few times in a P-47 when I got cought down low.
